进入21世纪，地图学已经从传统模拟地图学进入了数字地图学或者说现代地图学。现代地图学的理论、技术和应用与传统的地图学相比都发生了深刻的变化。地图作为一种图形语言，曾被称为是“地理学的第二语言”。在地理学领域，它常作为工具和手段两个形式出现的，一方面，它是地理学学习、课堂教学以及地理学研究的重要工具，一方面它还是地理学各类研究成果最好的表达手段。另外，地图还是一种重要的研究方法。我国高等院校中地理相关专业所开设的地图学课程，是诸多专业课程的先修课程和重要基础，常作为学位或学科的必修基础课程开设。地图学实习是地图学课程教学中不可或缺的重要环节,直接关系着教学的成败,具有举足轻重的地位。近年来，随着高校对实践教学的重视，地理研究者们对实践教学也渐渐重视起来，对高校地理实践教学改革的呼声日渐高涨。在这种背景之下，针对我国高校地图学实习所面临的实习教材和野外实习内容缺乏、课时短少、“重理论、轻实践”等种种困境，笔者在本文中对地图学实习的诸多方面进行研究，在地理实践教学理论指导下，把握目前国内外地图学实习现状，设计出一套较为全面的地图学实习体系，付诸实施；实施后对该年级学生和未经历新实习体系的学生分别进行问卷调查，对整个实习体系进行评价，并进行实习效果对比，提出经验和不足；最后，在前文所做研究基础之上，探讨完善地图学实习的进一步策略。

Cartography has entered the era of digital cartography or modern cartography from the conventional simulation cartography since the 21st century. Compared to the conventional cartography, the modern cartography has profound changes at the aspects of theory, technique and application. As one of the image languages, it has been regarded as “the 2nd language of cartography”. In the practice of cartography, map is usually utilized as both the tool and method. On one hand, it is an important tool for the study, course instruction and research of cartography. On the other hand, it is the best method to present all kinds of research results of the cartography. Moreover, map is an important research method. The cartography courses, lectured by many geology related majors among the Chinese institutions of higher learning, are fundamental to many professional courses, and they are lectured as the fundamental requirements for the degree or the major. Therefore, the practice studies of cartography are indispensible for the course instruction of cartography, which is of great importance and could affect the quality of course instruction.With increasing emphases of practical teaching among the institutions of higher learning, unprecedented attentions have been given by the geology researchers, who strongly require the evolution of geology practical teaching. Under the circumstances, we investigated many aspects of field studies of cartography, given that the field studies of cartography in Chinese institutions of higher learning have difficulties in a lack of textbook and content of the practice studies, short class hours, and the phenomenon of emphasizing theoretical teaching while despising practical teaching. Under the guide of the theoretical instruction of geology practical teaching, we designed a relatively systematic method for field studies of cartography and put it into action, according to the present situation of practice studies of cartography home and abroad; after that we evaluated the new method of practice study of cartography, compared the effects of two practice studies, and brought up pros and cons through the questionnaire surveys of the students who did and did not experience the new method of practice study of cartography; finally, we analyzed how to perfect the field practice of cartography, basing on the aforementioned research.
