英语时态是英语语法体系的重要组成部分,在语法学习中占着举足轻重的地位。但是,在高中英语作文中我们能发现学生在时态应用上出现了诸多的错误。我们能从期刊杂志上看到不少与时态错误分析相关的研究。但是,利用语料库对此项目进行的研究不多,而且其中的多项研究都是关于大学生写作中使用时态的研究。基于语料库的研究能更客观,具体,系统地研究学生在语境中使用时态的状况,笔者确立了运用自建语料库研究高中学生时态误用及产生原因的研究主题。支撑本项研究的自建语料库是由10万词构成的中国高中学生英语写作语料库(CSSECC)。它由600篇高中学生的考场英语作文组成。高一、高二、高三3个年级的英语作文各200篇分别组成CG1 (the Corpus of Grade1) and CG2 (the Corpus of Grade2) CG3(the Corpus of Grade3)三个子语料库 。通过运用S.P.Corder的错误分析理论,抽取了300篇作文(高一、高二、高三各一百篇),对中国高中生的考场作文中的时态错误进行了错误种类及频率统计,由此概括出错误特征,并分析造成错误的原因。旨在通过此研究,为高中英语时态教学提供反驳性建议。本文使用了中国高中学生英语写作语料库(CSSECC),并以其中标注的660处标注为vp6的时态错误为研究对象。通过研究,我发现:1) 高中英语学习者在写作中的时态选择错误( wrong choice of tense)占时态总错误的40% 。2) 在高中英语学习者在写作中的时态选择错误中,现在时代替过去时的误用频率最高,占到时态选择错误的65%。 3) 从高一到高三,英语学习者在时态上的错误出现频率呈下降趋势。 4) 从高一至高三学生所犯的错误类型上看,时态选错现象,主谓一致错误现象明显呈递减形式。但是时态使用一致性的错误,时态形式本身错误并没有随着时态学习时间的增长而明显减少。该研究还从母语迁移,第二语言以及认知因素,现行高中英语教学法等方面探究了时态错误的原因。并对英语时态教学提出了一些具体的教学建议。

Verb tenses, which play a key role in grammar learning, are considered as one of the most important but difficult parts in English grammar system. The usages of tenses are constantly discussed by linguistics, learners and teachers. However, it is common for us to find various misuses of tenses in high school students’ compositions. We can find a number of researches related with verb tenses or analysis of tenses errors in some English journals. Pitifully, the number of this kind of researches through the use of corpus is limited. Moreover, most of them focus on university students’ tense errors. So the writer began the research of analyzing the tense errors supported by corpus of the compositions from a certain group of high school students.With the hope of getting a clearer picture about the distribution of tenses among high school students, this study investigated into the errors and the causes behind them through the use of a self-built corpus which consists of 600 compositions (100000 words) written by 600 high school students in a test . Among of them, each sub-corpus contains 200 compositions from each of the three grades in an ordinary senior high school. With the help of S. P. Corder EA theory, the writer tagged and sorted the verb errors, counted the number of tense errors in 300 compositions, 100 from each sub-corpus as well as calculated the frequency of tense errors in these compositions. In this study, the major findings are obtained:1) The wrong choice of tense occupies 40% of the total number of tense errors in the surveyed high school students’ compositions.2) In the wrong choice of tense found in the corpus, 65% of the misuses of tense come from the fact that the simple present tense are used to replace the simple past tense. 3) The frequency of the misuse of tenses by high school learners is getting lower from grade one to grade three. 4) Wrong choice of tense, errors in subject and predicate agreement are reduced gradually with the higher grade. However, the errors in tense agreement and the wrong form of tense are not reduced with the increasing of learning year.The present study also discusses the possible causes leading to Chinese high school students’ errors in using tenses from the perspective of L1-tansfer, target language, cognition and present grammar teaching method in high school. The results together with the discussion provide some implication and suggestions to the teaching of English tense.
