长期以来，由于历史的原因和现实生活中的民族之间的差异以及汉语是少数民族的第二门语言的原因，相当数量的少数民族学生汉语学习效果不甚理想。尽管通过中小学及大学阶段持续十几年的汉语学习，但许多少数民族学生运用汉语的能力仍然不能适应专业学习及社会的需要。在汉语教学过程中，少数民族学生总想寻找一种能更快更好地掌握汉语的途径，但是从现有的教学法来看还很难确定哪种方法能有效达到我们预期的目标。因此如何提高新疆少数民族学生的汉语水平这个问题不能不引起我们的注意和重视。从调查中我们发现北京师范大学的新疆少数民族学生的汉语水平现在持着中等水平，他们在提高汉语水平过程中遇到了不少困难或者问题，并对此采取了很多有效的方法和途径。

For a long time, a great number of students of ethnic minority cannot master Chinese well due to historical reason and difference between various nations or the fact that Chinese is their second language. Ever after years of study, many students of ethnic minority fail to master Chinese to fit the need of further studies or of society. In teaching of Chinese, no doubt, they hope to find a more efficient way to improve their Chinese, yet researchers fail to label out those effective methods for improving their Chinese. So how have to raise Xinjiang Chinese competence these issue of ethnic minority bringing our great consideration. Research result shows that the students of Xinjiang ethnic minority in Beijing Normal University stay in the middle level now and that they encounter many a problem throughout the process of Chinese learning, they have adopted different methods to improve their Chinese.
