转喻双音词指通过转喻方式产生的双音词。词义实际所指的目标概念是用与之具有相关关系的源概念来表示的。这类双音词两个语素结合的理据往往不够清晰,词义理解相对困难。 本文以《现代汉语词典》(第5版)为语料范围。据本文统计,词典中共有转喻双音词380个,其中源概念为动作行为的共计122个,本文集中对这122个词进行研究。 本文采用认知语言学转喻的视角,运用词汇语义学的分析方法,主要研究不同类型的转喻发生的条件,转喻双音词的语义结构,语义和句法的相关性,转喻过程的认知阐释以及转喻双音词中蕴含的文化等问题。 全文共分五章。第一章是绪论,主要总结前人研究成果,提出研究问题。第二章根据转喻方式对122个词进行了分类,经过对每一类转喻条件的分析,归纳出动作行为发生转喻的总体规律:动作行为与目标概念之间紧密相关,动作行为具有高度的显著性,并且表示目标概念的区别性特征。转喻规律是:具体转喻抽象,部分转喻整体,可见转喻不可见。本文还总结了动作行为转喻名物的条件和转喻活动的条件。研究还表明,什么样的动作行为转喻什么样的情感是基于被这个民族所认知的身体经验和生理效应。 第三章主要研究转喻双音词的语义。转喻双音词语素义和词义都是间接相关的关系。语素义之间则存在多种结构关系。语义和句法具有相关性,单个语素义凸显、词义的隐含成分、词的附加色彩和词义的发展演变都会影响词对搭配项的选择以及使用场合。动作行为发生转喻大多属于无标记转指,有时也借助轻声、儿化等外在形态手段。 第四章对动作行为发生转喻进行认知阐释。从认知的视角看,转喻是基于目标概念和源概念之间的邻近性以及源概念的显著性。在概念整合过程中,动作行为和目标概念之间的相关性投射到类属空间,历史文化背景知识会整合到合成空间中,最终动作行为获得目标概念的属性,从而发生转指。 第五章讨论这批词体现的文化。转喻所基于的相关关系实际上是一种文化心理联系,只有被人们认知和把握了的关联性才可能引发转喻。从词汇和文化的关系来看,词汇可以保存文化,有些词随时代变迁而消亡,有些获得新的词义内涵而可以长久保持其生命力。此外,转喻双音词中体现出中国文化中深刻的等级尊卑观念和重视“礼”的思想。

Metonymy disyllabic words refer to the disyllabic words produced by metonymy mode. The actual meaning is represented by using one source concept to refer to another target concept that is related to it. As for this kind of disyllabic words, the motivation of morphemes’ combination is often not clear. As a result, it’s relatively difficult to understand the word meaning.This research is limited in Modern Chinese Dictionary (the fifth edition), according to our statistics, the dictionary has a total of 380 metonymy disyllabic words, in which action class is 122, our study focuses on these 122 words.This article mainly adopts the analysis method of lexical semantics in the perspective of metonymy of cognitive linguistics. Our article mainly studies the conditions of different types of metonymy; the semantic structure of disyllabic metonymy words; relationship between semantics and syntax; cognitive interpretation of the metonymy process, and cultural issues in these words.The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, mainly summarized the results of previous studies, and proposed the research questions. In the second chapter, we classified the 122 words according to the metonymy mode, and according to the analysis of each kind of metonymy condition, we generalized the metonymic rules: there is a close relationship between the action and the metonymy entity, meanwhile the action behavior is highly significant, and is the distinctive features of the target concept. The general rules of metonymy are: the specific stands for the abstract, the part stands for the whole, and the visible stands for the invisible. The thesis also summarized the conditions of metonymy when the action behavior stands for the things and the events. The study also showed that, what kind of action behavior stands for what kind of emotion is based on the body experience and physiological effects acknowledged by this nation.The third chapter mainly discussed the semantic issues of metonymy disyllabic words. The word meaning is indirectly related to the morphemes meaning. There are different kinds of structural relationship between morphemes’ meaning. Semantics is related to syntax. Single morpheme highlights, the implicit meaning, additional colors and evolution of meaning can affect the collocations and context. The action behavior metonymy mostly belongs to unmarked transferred-designation, sometimes the transfer needs the external forms including the neutral tone and the retroflex ending”-r”.The fourth chapter mainly discussed the issue of cognitive interpretation. From the cognitive perspective, metonymy is based on the proximity between the object concept and the target concept, and highlights of source concept. In the process of conceptual integration, the correlation between the action and the target concept will be projected into the generic space; the historical culture background knowledge will also be blended in the blend space; and as a result, the action acquires the properties of the target concept, and the transfer can happen.The fifth chapter discussed the culture reflected by these words. The proximity which the metonymy is based on is actually a kind of cultural psychology relationship; only those relationships can cause metonymy what people pay attention to and grasp. From the point of view of the relationship between vocabulary and culture, vocabulary can save culture; with the changing times, some words die, and some can keep their vitality for a long time if they get new connotation meaning. Besides, metonymy disyllabic words reflect the strict hierarchical system and the thought of "etiquette" in Chinese culture.
