賈逵、服虔是《左傳》漢注的代表。杜預《春秋經傳集解》在大量吸收賈服注訓詁成果的基礎上，對賈服注進行了五項重要的革新。第一，簡化賈服注中種種異說，刪改句意串講變為重點詞訓釋，省去大量補充引文；第二，篩選賈服注訓詁，以貼合原文作為根本標準，選擇最符合傳文的訓釋詞，在分析原文的基礎上確定義項和具體義值；第三，減少聲訓的使用，以義訓取代聲訓；第四，嚴格審查經說，刪去賈服注中的漢代今文經說與無據猜測，依據文意確定解釋力最強的說法；第五，以凡例、變例、非例的釋經體系整齊賈服義例。杜預注反映了魏晉隨文注釋訓詁的發展。
