位于河南省西南部的南阳盆地偏东的裕州，为毗邻豫陕鄂交界地区。本文试图以明清时期裕州治乱兴衰背景下市镇的兴替为切入点，揭示其地域社会内部各不同区域成长脉络与差异，探索豫陕鄂交界的中国腹地明清时期社会发展的内在线索。本文共分四章。第一章介绍裕州内部不同区域间地理、交通环境和梳理历史上裕州移民、商贸和动乱的大致情景，勾勒长时段中，地方社会从王朝边缘走向北宋时靠近帝都中心，历经宋元战乱，至明中期以前，形成具有东、西城之分移民社会的过程。第二章通过明中期裕州动乱与重建过程中基层社会组织以及镇、店方位、所处区域地理、商贸环境的比较，揭示东、西部差异的继续和扩大，南、北部地区的发展。第三章将明末至清中期视为一个剧烈变动的时期，探讨裕州是如何进入明清鼎革动荡的历史环境，地方动乱与山区开发的关系，地域社会差异的延续，乾嘉时期整体商业力量的崛起，并清中后期地方动乱情况，为下文论述治乱兴衰中裕州三镇的变迁线索与特质蓄势。第四章借助拐河、独树和赊旗三个分别位于州北、州东与州南的市镇，分析其地域环境、商贸网络、移民群体和地方势力，发现虽然三镇均在原有人口、商贸聚落集中地区成长，并经历了村－店－镇的过程，然而，其具体的兴替轨迹与特性却迥然相异。本文想要通过明清时期，裕州移民、动乱与市镇及其相互关系来展现其地域社会的特性。在拐河、独树、赊旗兴替的背后，是深深地植根于本地固有社会特性，以及与周围世界，尤其商贸环境的关系之中的原有人群、地方基层系统，经济单元以及区域经济特性的延续与变异，这种特性不同于江南等其他地区。

Yuzhou裕州 is a district at Nanyang 南阳basin, adjoining to the border area of Henan, Hubei and Shanxi provinces. This thesis takes the prosperity and decline of the towns in Yuzhou as a breakthrough point, to explain Yuzhou’s story line in Ming-Qing period, and to explore the characters of Chinese hinterland’s society.This thesis is divided into four chapters. ChapterⅠ introduces the geographical and viatic environment, immigration, commerce and turmoil of Yuzhou before Ming dynasty. Yuzhou was from verge to centre in the view of empires during the long history. However, after the war among Song, Jin and Mongolia, Yuzhou was mostly destroyed and it’s east and west part had different characters. ChapterⅡ explains the differences between east and west, as well as the developments of north and south, through discussing the basic social organizations and towns’ positions. Chapter Ⅲ investigates social agitations in late Ming and Mid-Qing dynasty, including turmoil, exploitation of mountainous areas, rising of commercial strength. The last Chapter takes Guaihe拐河, Dushu独树 and Sheqi赊旗as examples, in order to analyze the growth lines of towns in north, east and south Yuzhou. These towns were from villages- dian店-town, and have different characteristics in population and areas of concentration.The characters of Guaihe, Dushu and Sheqi is related to Yuzhou’s history and external environments, especially many kinds of crowds, social basic systems, economical units, the characters’ continuer and variation. The towns in Yuzhou are different from south of Yangzi River’s in Ming-Qing period.
