文史教育在高等教育中占据基础性地位。从学术研究和现实需要来看,倡导文史教育不仅是对于中国传统教育的理解与继承,更是对于现代教育所承载的现实情怀的体悟。云南虽处西南边隅,但云南教育文化界有识之士对于提倡文史教育和振兴传统学术的认识并不滞后。抗战胜利后,私立五华文理学院是西南边疆地区倡导文史教育与边疆研究的典型个案。学院办学者身处边疆,却有着提倡复兴学术以建国的意识,并矢志不渝地将其融入办学的实践之中。在复杂的时代环境中,他们提倡文史教育,投身边疆研究,他们的兴学之举对于云南高等教育与边疆学术研究的发展都有独特意义,值得深入探索和挖掘。 私立五华文理学院基于其办学宗旨倡导文史教育,体现在其偏重文史学科,一方面加强文史学科的内部调整,另一方面确立文史学科在全校通识教育中的地位。学院在师资力量、组织机构、招生考试与日常考核、教学管理等方面为实施文史教育提供保障。学院的文史教育仿照书院教学方式、理论与实践相结合、以学术研究促进教学,有自身的特色。学院的文史教育在云南地区和边疆学的发展中应有其地位,学院为云南地区培养了一批文史人才,推动了云南地区的文史研究。学院设置“云南边疆文化学系”,奠定了边疆学的基础,奏响了构建云南边疆学系与云南地方史研究的序曲。学院致力于发展西南文化与学术研究,在办学之初聘请文史名师开设讲座,创办《五华》月刊等刊物,记录和保存了学院乃至云南学界学术文化活动的面貌,反映了当时云南学界的学术动态。同时,学院为云南地区教育和文史研究保存了珍贵的文献资料。 借由私立五华文理学院这一个案,可窥见其时西南边疆被纳入政治视野与学术视野的时代背景,其背后也映射了在边疆地区提倡文史教育的时代意义。彼时私立五华文理学院倡导文史教育,既是对西南高等教育资源的开发,也是对于中国传统文化的传承,更是对于国家意识和家国情怀的培养与巩固。学院设置的“边疆文化学系”是构建边疆学学科的一次重要尝试,它是中国边疆学学科发展和云南边疆学术研究不可或缺的部分。总之,私立五华文理学院作为研究边疆地区高等院校文史教育的个案,对于云南近代教育史和云南地方学术研究有着重要影响,其办学精神与办学经验可为地方高等院校提供借鉴。 |

The education of literature and history occupies a fundamental position in higher education. From the viewpoint of academic research and realistic needs, advocating literature and history education is not only an understanding of and sympathy for traditional Chinese education, but also a realization of the realistic sentiments carried by modern education. Although Yunnan is located in the southwestern part of the country, it is not lagging behind in the promotion of literature and history education and the revitalization of traditional academics. Especially after the victory in the war of resistance, the private Wuhua College of Arts and Sciences is a typical case of advocating literature and history education and frontier research in the southwest frontier area. The scholars who ran the college were located in the frontier area, but they had the consciousness of advocating the revitalization of academics to build up the country, and they were determined to integrate it into the practice of running the school. In the complex environment of the times, they advocate education in literature and history, and devote themselves to frontier research. Their actions to establish school have unique significance for the development of higher education and academic research on the frontier in Yunnan, which is worth exploring and excavating in depth. The private Wuhua College of Arts and Sciences advocates education in the literature and history based on its mission, which is reflected in its preference for the literature and history, on the one hand, by strengthening the internal adjustment of the literature and history, and on the other hand, by establishing the position of the disciplines of literature and history in the general education of the whole school. The college provides safeguards for the implementation of the education of literature and history in terms of faculty, organizational structure, admission examination and daily assessment, teaching management, etc. The college's education of literature and history is modelled on that of the academy. The education of literature and history of the college is modelled on the teaching method of the academy, combines theory and practice, and promotes teaching by academic research, which has its own characteristics. The education of literature and history of the college should have its position in the development of Yunnan region and frontier studies. The college has cultivated a number of liberal arts talents for Yunnan region, promoted the research of literature and history in Yunnan region, set up the "Department of Yunnan Frontier Culture", laid the foundation of frontier studies, and played the prelude to the construction of the Department of Yunnan Frontier Studies and the research of local history in Yunnan. The college is committed to the development of southwestern culture and academic research, and at the beginning of the school hired famous teachers of literature and history to give lectures, and founded "Wuhua" monthly magazine and other publications, which recorded and preserved the academic and cultural activities of the college and even the academic circles of Yunnan, reflecting some of the dynamics of the academic circles of Yunnan at that time. At the same time, the college has preserved precious documentary materials for the study of education, literature and history in Yunnan. The case of the private Wuhua College of Arts and Sciences gives a glimpse of the background of the time when the southwest frontier was included in the political and academic horizons, and behind it also maps the significance of the time when the education of literature and history was advocated in the frontier areas. At that time, the private Wuhua College of Arts and Sciences advocated the education of literature and history, which was not only the development of higher education resources in Southwest China, but also the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture, and the cultivation and consolidation of national consciousness and family sentiment. The "Department of Frontier Cultural Studies" set up by the college is an important attempt to build the discipline of frontier studies, which is an indispensable part of the development of the discipline of frontier studies in China and the academic research of the Yunnan frontier. In conclusion, as a case study of literature and history education in higher education institutions in frontier areas, the private Wuhua College of Arts and Sciences has unique significance for the study of modern education history and local academic history of Yunnan, and its school-running spirit and school-running experience can be a reference for local higher education institutions. |
