There have been a number of studies in the academic world on the relationship between modern women writers and their educational background, but it's not enough. There are some common entry points in the present study, such as "Women's education", "the education system of the Republic of China", "women's higher education", etc. However, the concept of "female school" has not yet entered the field of research. The women's school in China was a form of school education for female students, which first appeared in the coastal areas since the Opium War. The western missionaries were the earliest founders. As a result, private girls' schools had emerged. Until the 1907, the late Qing government formally established its legal status in the form of official documents. The Chinese women began to break through the shackles of the traditional feudal ethics and were able to enter the school to receive education. When we look at the women writers who went to the literary world in the early twentieth Century, We find that most of them have been educated in women's schools. It can be said that the synchronization of the historic development and the lifting of the ban and a modern female writer. Then, what was the main effect of female school education on women writers? Most of the researchers focus on the relationship between women's education and women's literature. It takes full attention to the historical role played by the women's school as a platform for modern women's literature. As it is difficult to collect the original information, It still stays on the superficial layer and can't dig deeper on the impact of female students in the school curriculum, discusses the teachers, school and association. Based on a large number of school magazine and school textbooks, Combining the works of the writers and the relevant historical documents, combing the argument, this paper insists that the influence of women's school on women's literature is directly represented as the spiritual construction of modern women writers. It is also the construction of this spiritual level which further contributed to the unique historical features of modern women's literature.
The word “women’s school” Literally shows its distinctive sex which also determineed its many characteristics. And tracing to the root of this phenomenon, it was closely related to the context of the time between the old and the new. From the purpose of education to the constitution of the women's school, from the curriculum to the campus culture, from the knowledge imparting to the aesthetic edification, they all embodied the characteristics of a new and old blend. For traditional ideas, the education of the women's school abandoned its closed conservatism, while inherited some of them intentionally or unintentionally; As the modern spirit, on the one hand, women's school education had spared no effort to promote and spread it. On the other hand, it was careful not to overstep the traditional boundaries. All these features were not only a survival strategy for the women's school to adapt to the environment, but also a kind of enterprising spirit that the founders carried out their educational ideals. In general, the women’s school, as a new and old historical intermediate in modern education, the traditional and new, romantic and conservative spiritual characteristics of modern women writers had been formed by the teaching and campus culture of their sexes. The spiritual characteristics of this new and old blend were presented through three dimensions of cultural connotation, time consciousness and literary style. In short,The “new” and “old” education of women's school directly affected the “new” and “old” spirit of modern women writers, and reflected the “new” and “old” of the whole era.
