张荫麟是民国时期著名的学者、历史学家。他年少成名，被梁启超称为“天才”。学贯中西的张荫麟长期立志于新式中国通史的编纂，终于在1935年接受国民政府委托，编写中学历史教科书，即《中国史纲》。随着张荫麟在抗战中去世，《中国史纲》只写到东汉，但这部未竟的通史，却在20世纪的中国史学史、中国历史教育史上留下了可圈可点的一笔。《中国史纲》不但是一部优秀的史学专著，也被当时的历史教师称为历史教科书中最好的一本创作。从历史教科书的角度去审视《中国史纲》，或许能够为今天历史教科书的建设带来一些启发。

From the point of view of the history textbooks to examine the "Outline History of China", may be able to bring some inspiration for the preparation of the history textbooks today.
