中学生正处于发育发展的关键时期,同时又面临着学习和考试的双重压力,各种心理问题频频出现。现阶段我国中学生的心理健康水平不容乐观,情况令人担忧。应对作为应激与心理健康的中介因素,是心理健康的重要影响因素。因此,对中学生的心理健康和应对方式以及这两者之间的关系进行研究,这对中学生心理健康工作的推进和心理健康水平的提升都具有重大意义。本研究采用王极盛编制的《中国中学生心理健康量表》和郑全全编制的《中学生应对方式量表》对629名中学生进行调查,探讨中学生心理健康、应对方式以及两者之间的相关,主要研究结果如下:1、揭阳市中学生心理健康水平总体不佳。男生的心理健康水平略低于女生。心理健康水平有随着年级增加而下降的趋势,高三年级的心理健康水平最差。普通中学学生的心理健康水平略低于重点中学学生。农村地区学校学生的心理健康水平略低于城市地区学校学生。2、揭阳市中学生主要采取问题解决、积极的合理化解释、寻求社会支持的应对方式。女生比男生更多地采用寻求社会支持的应对方式。各年级学生在问题解决、积极的合理化解释、忍耐、逃避和发泄五种应对方式上存在显著性差异,初一是应对方式采用最好的年级,积极应对采用多,消极应对采用少,高三年级在应对方式上出现两极分化特点,无论是积极应对还是消极应对得分都最高。重点中学学生比普通中学学生更多的采用积极应对的方式。农村和城市地区学校的学生应对方式没有存在显著差异。3、揭阳市中学生心理健康各个因子与问题解决和积极的合理化解释存在负相关,并在多个因子上差异显著,而与忍耐、逃避、发泄、幻想等应对方式都存在显著正相关。说明越多的采用问题解决和积极的合理化解释的应对方式,心理健康水平越高,而越多地使用忍耐、逃避、发泄、幻想的应对方式,心理健康水平越低。积极寻求社会支持与心理健康各因子既有正相关的也有负相关的,提示积极寻求社会支持可能不是采用的越多越好。

The middle school students are at a critical stage of physical and psychological development, facing the high stress of study and examinations. So their psychological conflicts and emotional problems occur frequently. As a matter of fact, the mental health of Chinese middle school students is not in a good condition, which has become a worry to their parents and teachers. As a mediating factor of stress and mental health, coping styles are an important factor which influences mental health. Therefore, it is significant to study middle school students’ mental health and coping styles as well as the relationship between them, which will enhance the mental health education and improve the students’ mental health levels.This thesis used the Middle School Student’ Mental Health Scale complied by Wangjisheng and the Middle School Students’ Coping Style Scale by Zhengquanquan and 629 middle school students were investigated to explore middle school students’ mental health, coping styles and their relationship. The results show as follow.1. In general, the mental health status of the middle school students in Jieyang is not good. The mental health status of boys is a little lower than that of girls. The mental health status of the senior students is lower than that of the junior students and the mental health status of students in Senior Three is the lowest. The mental health status of students in ordinary schools is lower than that of students in key schools. The mental health status of students coming from country is a little lower than that of students coming from city.2. The middle school students in Jieyang mainly adopt positive rationalized explanation,problem-solving and seeking social support in coping styles. The girls who adopt seeking social support are significantly more than the boys. There are obvious difference between the students from different grades who adopt problem-solving, positive rationalized explanation, endurance, avoidance and abreaction in coping styles. The adoption in coping styles of students in Junior One is the best because they choose the most positive coping styles and the least negative coping styles. Students in Senior Three make entirely different adoption of coping styles, because the scores of positive coping styles and those of negative coping styles are the highest. Students in key schools adopt more positive coping styles than students in ordinary schools. There is no significant difference between students coming from urban and rural area in coping styles.3. Each factor of mental health of middle school students in Jieyang negatively correlates with problem–solving and positive rationalized explanation, but positively correlates with endurance, avoidance, abreaction and delusion. It proves that the more coping styles of problem-solving and positive rationalized explanation are adopted, the higher their mental health levels are and that the more coping styles of endurance, avoidance, abreaction and delusion, the lower their mental health levels are. Each factor of mental health sometimes negatively correlates with seeking social support and sometimes positively correlates with it, which shows that it is not likely that the more often students adopt the coping style of seeking social support, the higher their mental health levels are.
