本论文运用文献研究法和实地考察法从建筑艺术、历史、宗教、文化等几个方面详细描述了妙应寺白塔和博达哈大佛塔的历史、基本特征、地位、布局、装饰、基座、结构、样式，眼睛等，对比了它们的相似之处和不同之处。 研究发现，两座塔的相似之处是：两座白塔都是木头和石砖结构的，建筑结构上没有大的区别，这些塔的基座有三层都是石砖结构的，每层都是12折角的正方形平面的，塔身都是圆顶形的。 不同之处是：妙应寺白塔现在的样子看起来很朴素。塔身部分没有什么装饰。这座塔的相轮是圆形的、华盖、尖顶部分很华丽有装饰，十分贵重。博达哈大佛塔的高度是41米，而妙应寺白塔的高度是51米。博达哈大佛塔的宽度比妙应寺白塔大。两座白塔还有一个重要的差别——眼睛的差别，博达哈大佛塔上绘有眼睛，而妙应寺白塔塔身干净，什么也没有。这是因为妙应寺白塔是地道的尼泊尔风格塔，它的设计师是尼泊尔人。 虽然这两座塔大小有差异，但在宗教意义上是等同的。藏传佛教徒很重视眼睛，在建筑中能看出来眼睛重要性，分别是同情、智慧和涅盘的象征。

Abstract This paper describes in detail the history, basic characteristics, importance, layout, decoration, structure, style and eyes of Miaoying Temple and Bouddha Nath Stupa from the aspects of architectural art, history, religion and culture by means of literature research and field investigation, and compares their similarities and differences. The similarities between the two stupas are that: The two white stupas are made of wood, stone and bricks. There is no big difference in the architectural structure. The base of these towers is made of stone bricks on three floors. Each floor is a square plane with 12 folded angles, and the body of the stupa is dome-shaped. The difference is that: The Miaoying Temple now looks very simple. There is no decoration on the body of the stupa. The 13steps of this pagoda is round, spire part is gorgeous and decorative, which is very valuable. The height of Bouddha Nath Stupa is 41 meters, and Miaoying Temple is 51 meters. The width of the Bouddha Nath Stupa is larger than that the Miaoying Temple. There is another important difference between the two white pagodas that - The difference of eyes. The Bouddha Nath Stupa is painted with eyes, while the Miaoying Temple is clean and has nothing. This is because the Miaoying Temple is an authentic Nepalese style stupa. Its designer is Nepalese. Although the two towers different in size, they are religiously equivalent. Tibetan Buddhists they think eyes are very important, which can be seen in architecture as a symbols of compassion, wisdom and nirvana.
