As an Chinese minority writer living Taiwan Xi Murong created her works with a sense of homesickness and the continual seek for his national cultural tradition, which are also the reasons for her emotional expression in her works. Xi Murong was brought up in the atmosphere of Chinese traditional culture, so we can discover the impact easily in her works. Meanwhile, as an overseas Chinese writer, she partly inherited Chinese traditional culture in the form of continual imitation and flexible application. A lot of ancient Chinese poetic titles and images emerged in her works as well as the sentences altered from former poetry. All these together add a sense of classic to her modern poems. With her cultural background, she rather misses her hometown, the never -seen Mongolian highland and longed for Mongolian culture . The homesickness revealed itself in her works .Her strong racism came partly from her parents’ statements, the rest being her own imagination which was quite obvious in her poetry. After she came back home, she became more rational in treating the function an status of the two kinds of culture and thought over her national culture with a more realistic view. She reconsidered the impact of the experienced culture in her life and became aware of the influence of the mixed cultural. She also realized that both the feature of Han culture in her poems and the Mongolian soul yelling in her prose were indispensable. In a whole, they are necessary components of Chinese culture. Multination means not only difference but also understanding and comprehension. Definitely there’ s gap between cultures but with the help of a bridge.
