《2017北京年鉴》是一部大型的综合性资料工具书和史料文献，记述了2016年度北京市各方面所发生的重大事件和新情况，其内容可以为政府决策提供参考依据，为各行各业提供有价值的资料，为国内外各方面人士了解北京、研究北京提供最新信息，其英译本能更好地让海外人士了解北京的市情市貌、发展变化。 本文是基于《2017北京年鉴》汉译英项目的翻译实践报告，重点关注了项目中大量存在的汉语缩略语现象。本文主要分为三章。第一章是翻译项目介绍，包括项目背景、译前准备以及文献综述。第二章主要研究《2017北京年鉴》中汉语缩略语的翻译，包括汉语缩略语的分类以及翻译方法，如直译加注、还原、释义和增减译法，并结合典型案例加以分析。第三章是翻译实践总结，总结收获与经验，反思缺点与不足，为今后同类项目提出了改进方案，以期对今后从事同类翻译的译者提供一定参考和借鉴。

Beijing Yearbook 2017 is a large-scale comprehensive reference book and historical document. It describes the major events and new situations in various aspects of Beijing in the year of 2016, providing the basis for the government’s decision-making, valuable data for people from all walks of life and the latest information for people at home and abroad to know and study the city. Its English version helps people from overseas to better understand the city and its development and changes. This is a report on the Chinese-English translation project of Beijing Yearbook 2017. It mainly focuses on the abundance of Chinese abbreviations in the project. The report consists of three chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the translation project, including the project background, pre-translation preparations and literature review. The second chapter mainly studies the translation of Chinese abbreviations in Beijing Yearbook 2017, including the classification and translation methods of Chinese abbreviations, such as literal translation with annotation, restituting, paraphrasing, adding and omitting, with case study for each method. The third chapter is a conclusion, which reveals the experience gained by the author and improvements for similar projects in the future, hoping to offer some reference for the translation of texts in similar types.
