《论语》自17 世纪被翻译成英文以来，在西方世界产生了深远的影响。自20 世纪70年代以来，英语世界的《论语》研究由过去的已翻译为主的研究方式，转向了以概念分析为主要手段的思想史的研究。 本文从儒家典籍翻译的诠释学理论入手，分析了芬格莱特、史华慈、郝大维和安乐哲几位代表人物对《论语》中的主要概念：礼、仁、天、道的研究，在详尽论述了他们各自对上概念的分析的基础上，展示了他们在这几个概念分析过程中的对话与批判。 通过本文的研究力图展示，20 世纪70 年代以来，《论语》的翻译与研究已经基本跳出了西方中心主义的局限，西方的汉学家乃至哲学家已经自觉地将中国哲学与西方哲学放在一个天平的两边，来发掘中国古老的人文精神和仁爱思想。通过《论语》中主要概念的分析，英美两国在思想史的层面上解读了《论语》中所蕴含的哲学思想对西方乃至全人类文明发展的重要意义，也为中国的儒家文化研究带来了新鲜的力量与思考，为儒家文化研究的进一步深入提供了新的视角。

Since the 17th century, The Analects of Confucius has been translated into English. It caused profound influence in the western world. Since 1970s, the research of The Analects of Confucius has changed its way. In a long period, the main method on the research of The Analects of Confucius is translating the Chiness version into English version. But since 1970s, the sinologists and philosophers put the focus of their research on the history of Confucian thought by concept analysis.This thesis first discusses the special Hermeneutics theory of translating the Confucian text into English, then analysized the five following scholars (They are Herbert Fingarette, Benjamin Schwartz, Angus C. Graham, David L. Hall and Roger T. Ames)analysis on the main concepts of The Analects of Confucius: Ren,Li, Tian and Dao. Through the analysis, show the dialogue and discussion while analysizing the concepts.Through the researching of this thesis, the author tries to open up that since 1970s ,the study and translation and research of The Analects of Confucius has basically escaped the limitation of western-cnetered.The Sinologists and philosophers in western countries has put Chinesephilosophy and western philosophy on the two sides of the scales. They are trying to find out thehumanism and benevolent spirit in old Chinese thoughts.During the interpretation of the main concepts in The Analects of Confucius.UK and USAhas realized the significance of the philosophical thought of the Analects of Confucius for the development both western and human being’s civilization. It also brings fresh force and thinkingto the study of Confucianism in China, and provide a new viewpoint for the deepen research of Confucianism.
