马克思的交往理论从多方面展示了马克思创立历史唯物主义、构建社会发展理论以及探求人的发展道路的独特视角，是马克思主义哲学的重要组成部分。交往构成了物质生产的前提，随着物质生产的发展而不断改变自己的形式，并在反作用于物质生产的过程中制约着社会和人自身的发展。 物质生产作为人们必不可少的物质生活资料的生产，是人的历史的现实起点，而交往则构成了物质生产的前提。生产一开始就是社会性的生产，也就是说生产是以个人之间的交往为前提的。没有人与人之间的交往，就没有物质生产活动。但是，交往是历史的产生和发展的，人们不能自由的选择交往形式，物质生产决定交往形式。交往作为生产的前提也制约着生产力的发展，交往对生产力的制约主要体现在交往能够产生出一种具有真正力量的、扩大了的生产力，并使这种生产力得以继承和继续发展。 交往作为人类实践活动的一个重要方面在社会的形成和发展中具有重要作用。社会根源于生产，但直接形成于人与人之间的交往中。社会的发展也是在生产和交往的矛盾运动中不断由低级向高级，由分散的民族历史向整体的世界历史发展的。生产是社会发展的决定力量，而交往则是社会发展的有机变量。 交往同时也与人的发展密切联系。人的发展其实就是人的本质力量的发展，具体地体现在人的活动、人的社会关系和人的个性的发展上。人的发展是一个历史过程，只有随着交往发展到自主的、普遍的交往阶段，才能形成个人的自主活动，建立全面、丰富、自由的社会关系，实现人的自由个性，也即才能实现人的全面发展。 从根本上说，马克思的交往理论的理论旨趣是要对人的存在与发展的依据做出科学解答，关注人生存的现实境遇，使人摆脱异化的存在状态，从而实现人的全面发展。

Marx’s theory of intercourse shows trains of thought and distinctive angles of view in many ways that Marx founds historic materialism, constructs theory concerning social development, seeks the path of people’s development. Intercourse as the prerequisite of production changes form constantly and confines the development of society and human through the course of the counteraction of substance production. Substance production as the essential production of the material of substance life is the practical start of the history of human and intercourse is the prerequisite of production. The production is the social production from the very beginning, i.e. intercourse is the prerequisite of production. There is no substance production without intercourse between human. However, intercourse arises and develops historically. People cannot choose the forms of intercourse freely. Substance production decides the forms of intercourse. Intercourse as the prerequisite of production also confines the development of productivity. Intercourse can produce a kind of expanding productivity which has true strength and can make it inherit and continue to develop. Intercourse as an important aspect of practice plays an important role in the development of society. Society roots in production, but it forms in the intercourse of people directly. The society develops from low level to high level, from scattering national history to whole world history in the interacting of production and intercourse.. The production is the decisive factor and intercourse is the variable factor in the development of the society. Meanwhile, intercourse also closely relates to the development of human. In fact, the development of human is the development of human's essence which concretely reflects on the development of people's activity, people's social relationship and people's personality. Human's development is a historical process. It can reflect as free activity, overall social relationships and free personality only in free and universal intercourse stage. Fundamentally, Marx’s theory of intercourse provides scientific answers of the basis on which human 's existence and development, pays attention to realistic circumstances which the human survives, enables the human to get rid of the disassimilation and realizes person's full scale development.
