The years 1912 to 1926 were the period of the genesis and gestation of Ji Wenfu's late academic achievements and intellectual choices. From 1912 to 1918, Ji Wenfu studied in Henan and BeiJing. Under the guidance of his mentors, Liu Cuixuan and Li Minxiu, he developed a revolutionary consciousness as he built up his academic knowledge. Against the backdrop of the encounter between old and new ideas, he was exposed to and attracted by the herald of new thinking. In 1918, after graduating from Peking University and returning to Henan to teach, J Wenfu incorporated the new culture into his classroom teaching, and established the "Voice of the Heart" magazine with the progressive youth of his hometown, becoming an active spreader of new ideas in Henan. From 1924, Ji Wenfu published articles with Marxist theoretical content one after another, using historical materialism to analyze Chinese social problems, and went to the Soviet Union in 1926 to study Marxism in depth. Ji Wenfu's educational experience and ideological choices underwent a process of development from passive to active, in which he constantly refined the direction of his choices, laying the groundwork for his subsequent achievements in the fields of Chuanshanism and the materialistic conception of history.
