本文在对对外贸易与经济增长理论回顾和其他省市外贸经验分析的基础上，利用重庆改革开放20多年来经验数据，通过构建计量模型，利用OLS回归、协整及Granger因果检验等方法对重庆市对外贸易与经济增长的关系进行了实证研究。研究结果表明：重庆目前的经济发展主要是依靠消费和投资的增长，重庆市消费每增长一个百分点，GDP将增长0.35%，投资每增长一个百分点可以拉动GDP增长0.16%，进口每增加一个百分点将使经济增长0.09%，出口每增长一个百分点将使经济增长减弱0.07%，可见，进出口贸易在重庆的经济发展过程中并没有发挥出应有的重大推动作用。因此，从重庆的区位、经济、政策等各方面的情况来看，重庆应该充分利用自身优势，挖掘其外贸发展潜力，使其在经济发展过程中发挥其应有的作用。具体来说，就是要调整经济发展战略，加大对外开放的力度；制定扩大出口的战略，大力发展出口贸易；充分利用当地的比较优势，大力发展加工贸易；大力培养外贸人才，加快对外贸易的发展；重视培育外贸中介组织，加强外贸立法。

On the base of theory review on trade and economic growth, We used the data from 1987-2006, through Eviews3.1, by the methods of OLS, Cointegration and Granger casualty test to find out the relationship between Chongqing’s trade and economic growth. The conclusion evident that consumption and investment are still playing the main role in Chongqing’s economic growth, per increase in consumption can course 0.35% increase in GDP, 1% increase of investment can pull the GDP by 0.16%, 1% increase of import can pull the GDP by only 0.09%, and 1% export increase can slow up the growth of GDP by 0.07%. We can see that the international trade didn’t make much sense in Chongqing’s economic growth. Regard of Chongqing’s advantages in trade, Chongqing should make full use of it’s advantages in the good district, economic policies, etc. Concretely, Chongqing should adjust the economic plans, to be more open to the international market, make effort to expand the export, to foster and bring in more persons who are expertise in trade.
