《浮生六记》是清朝学者沈复撰写的自传体散文。长期以来，此书因其感人至深的内容和直率真诚的叙述风格，一直被读者所喜爱。1936年，这部作品首次由著名的中国学者林语堂先生翻译成英文。在这之后，又有三个英文版本相继出版。由于译者的母语和文化背景不同，他们的翻译方式也存在着很多不同之处。本文旨在通过对比林语堂译本和白伦、江素惠共同翻译的译本，分析两个译本的译者在处理文化负载词语时采用的翻译策略。通过对不同翻译策略的对比以及对其翻译效果的品评，可以发掘有效处理文化负载词语翻译的方法，对译者的翻译工作起到一定的借鉴作用。 本文由五个章节构成。第一章主要介绍了本文的研究背景，以及比较的研究方法。第二章介绍了沈复和《浮生六记》的概况，以及《浮生六记》的英文译本，并着重对林语堂的译本和白伦、江素惠合译本进行介绍，分析了二者的可比性。第三章对《浮生六记》英译本的文化负载词翻译进行分析，首先论述了《浮生六记》文本翻译的挑战，然后对文化负载词中的成语俗语、借代词和多义词三个类别的翻译进行了分析。第四章对译者的翻译结果进行了品评，并基于比较结果，对文化负载词的翻译提出了一些建议。最后一章总结了本文的主要观点，得出结论，并对该课题的研究提出了展望。

Six Records of a Floating Life is an autobiography prose written by Shen Fu, who is a litterateur in Qing Dynasty. The prose has long been favored by readers for its frank and sincere narrative style.It was first translated into English in 1936 by famous Chinese literati, Lin Yutang. After that, three other English versions were published successively. Since the translators have different mother language and cultural backgrounds, their ways of translating are quite different. This paper aims at making a thorough comparison between Lin Yutang's version and the version translated by Leonard Pratt and Chiang Su-hui out of their high comparability. By comparing different strategies and evaluating the effects of translating the culture- loaded words contained in the prose,a better way to deal with the cultural gap may be found. This paper consists of five chapters. The first chapter introduces the study background and the comparative methods. The second chapter generally introduces Shen Fu,the book and also its English versions. In this chapter, the author mainly introduces the version translated by Lin Yutang and the version translated by Leonard Pratt and Chiang Su-hui.The author also discusses the comparability of Lin's version and Pratt's version.The third chapter analyzes the translation of culture-loaded words in the two English versions. In this Chapter, the author discusses the challenge of translating the prose and then compares the different methods in translating idioms & common sayings, metonymy words and polysemous words under the category of culture-loaded expressions. The fourth chapter evaluates the two translations and gives some suggestions on translating culture-loaded expressions. The last chapter draws some conclusion and proposes the forecast to the further research on this subject.
