提高学生科学素养是科学教育的基本目标。我国从2001年开始的基础教育领域课程改革中,明确提出科学课程的目标是全面提高每个学生的科学素养。《校园科普活动》是一门以提高学生科学素养为目标的校本课程,课程内容为科学相关的主题。在生命科学领域,进化被认为是最重要的概念,进化论是生命科学中的核心和统一原则,也是许多现代生物学理论的基础,因此进化论的教学对于学生学习生命科学并从中理解科学本质具有重要的意义;而国外已有的研究表明美国生物课程研究所(BSCS)开发的5E教学模式能有效地提高学生的生物科学素养。基于以上的考虑,本研究以5E教学模式进行进化主题《校园科普活动》的课程设计与实施。本研究通过进化教学相关主题的文献研究,总结了学生在进化主题上普遍存在的错误概念以及有效的进化教学策略;通过仔细研读和分析26个国家/地区的课程标准文件,筛选出在生物进化主题上普遍关注的核心概念,根据这些概念的年级段分布并结合课程实施学校学生的情况,确定了本研究课程的教学目标;通过文献研究,掌握了5E教学模式的特点以及在教学中的应用,以泰勒的课程开发原理为指导,设计了以5E教学模式组织的进化主题《校园科普活动》课程,并在一个教学班实施了该课程;通过课程实施前后测查学生对进化主题相关概念的掌握情况,以及课程实施后对学生进行抽样访谈,了解了学生对课程的感受和评价,并考查了学生学习完本研究课程以后对进化相关概念的掌握情况。对学生的访谈结果显示,学生对于5E教学模式组织的进化主题《校园科普活动》是比较喜欢感兴趣的,认为这门课程有趣、开放、轻松;进化主题相关概念的测查显示,在学习完本研究的课程以后,学生对进化相关概念的理解水平有了显著提高;而对学生的访谈也显示,学生能较好地理解本课程重要的概念即自然选择的原理。基于以上研究,本研究为教师实施进化主题的教学以及以5E教学模式组织《校园科普活动》提出了建议。

Enhancing students’ scientific literacy is the basic goal of science education, and in the the ongoing basic education reform in China, improving every student’s scientific literacy has been considered the objective of all science curriculums. “Science-popularization in Junior Middle School” is a school-based curriculum, which is designed to improve students’ scientific literacy through science-popularization.For the science of biology, the theory of evolution proviedes a unifying framework within which many diverse facts are integrated and explained. It has been recognized by all major scientific societies and science education organizations as the central and unifying princeple of the biological science. Teaching evolution helps students understand not only this important theme of biology but also the scientific process and the nature of science. Many researches have proved that 5E Instructional Model developed by BSCS is effective in enhancing students’ biological scientific literacy. Based on these consideration, this research applies 5E Instructional Model in the school-based curriculum which topic is biological evolution.The research summarizes the common misconceptions students may hold and effective strategies in teaching evolution through literature study. By analyzing governmental documents of science education of twenty-six countries and regions, the key concepts in evolution are selected, then based on those key concepts, the objective of the curriculum is determined. Through the study of 5E Instructional Model and references of evolution teaching resources, the research designs the school-based curriculum on evolution topic and implements it in a class of grade 8. Students’ understanding of evolution before and after the curriculum is explored by pretests, protests of all students and interviews to several students. The interview is also used to find out students’ reflections toword the curriculum. The interviews shows that students are interested in the curriculum which is regarded as not boring and open by students. Pretests and protests on the topic of evolution indicates that students’ understanding of evoluion is significantly improved after the curriculum. The interviews also shows that students are able to make explanation of natural selection properly.Based on the research, the teaching suggestions of evolution and the applicability of 5E Instructional Model in “Science-popularization in Junior Middle School” are given.
