作为一种融合媒介,短视频已经深深嵌入普通人的日常生活。关于短视频和短视频平台的研究已经从技术层面逐渐扩展到平台上的内容生产者,相关研究已经不同角度阐释了短视频生产者在数字劳动与社会文化实践中的主体地位。本研究以短视频平台上的女性创作者为研究对象,以情感和性别为线索,着眼于女性创作者在短视频平台上的情感实践。借用情感资本理论,围绕女性创作者在短视频平台上情感资本的生成和转化的过程,发现短视频平台上女性创作者可以积累情感资本,同时情感资本具有流动性、过渡性和有限性的特点。

在文化研究的视野之下,本文运用质性研究方法,采取了数字田野观察和深度访谈两大类方法,数字田野观察包括平台游走和线上参与式观察两种方式。深度访谈的对象包括女性短视频创作者、男性短视频创作者、平台工作人员等五类群体。深度访谈的重点是39位短视频平台上的女性创作者,通过对短视频内容的分析,进一步深入访谈以了解她们从事短视频创作的过程以及其中的情感表达、与观众的互动以及线下的生活情境,试图了解她们在短视频平台上的情感实践过程。

研究发现,女性创作者在短视频平台的实践中发现了情感在平台逻辑中的价值和意义,基于个体感性经验和日常生活的短视频经由短视频平台生成了女性独特的资本形式——情感资本。情感资本帮助女性实现了自我价值,同时也创造了超越个体和家庭的社会价值。女性创作者通过情感实践生成的情感资本具有以下特征:第一,情感资本在短视频平台上具有流动性。短视频平台上女性内容创作者从知识技能、情感、日常生活和身体等四个维度展现了丰富的短视频内容。通过激活个体情感、扩大情感张力、引发情感共鸣的策略,女性创作者通过可见性劳动实现了情感维度的可见性。情感可见性反映了互联网内容生产的变化趋势,从早期网络影响者以输出知识和观点为主转向感性经验和日常生活的分享。情感维度的可见性本质上是展演“真实性”。第二,女性创作者在短视频平台上运用“情感工具箱”中的行动策略生成了女性独特的情感资本,具体包括情感挖掘,寻求积极的情感力量,储备情感等策略。在情感资本形成的过程中,包括初级社会化和次级社会化两个方面的来源,具体来说女性创作者从自我成长中发掘积极的情感能量,并从过往的职业经历里寻找可挪用的情感资源,建立了从“旧我”到“新我”之间的情感桥梁。第三,情感资本作为一种过渡性资本,具有可待转化的价值,情感资本在一定条件下可以转化为经济资本、文化资本、社会资本等其他资本形式,这形成了女性独特的资本积累方式。对于女性创作者而言,在平台上积累的情感资本转化过程显得尤为重要,只有完成了向其他资本的转化,才可以发挥情感资本的价值,为女性带来切实的改变。情感资本的转化需要依托内容生产者和观众之间的情感互动,女性创作者通过情感实践把情感传递给观众,实现情感流动的过程,正是这种流动才真正帮助女性创作者实现了从情感资本到其他资本形式的转化。在其他资本匮乏、情感管理能力和知识储备高、跨情境能力强和社交媒体素养高的条件下,情感资本的转化过程可能更为顺利。但是,情感资本的转化也会受到外部条件的限制,并非所有的情感资本都可以顺利完成转化。同时,情感资本积累帮助女性创作者在短视频平台上形成独特的场域。第四,情感资本作为一种过渡性资本,具有不稳定性和有限性的特征,短视频平台对女性群体尤其是底层女性生活状况和社会地位带来切实有效的改变,在目前的现实条件下,这是一种有限的、温和的为女性赋能的方式。第五,短视频平台上涌现的女性创作者呈现出德勒兹所描述的“块茎”式结构。女性创作者的个体感性经验经由数字媒体平台呈现出生生不息的活力。这种“主体的潜能”的感性表达,正是文化本身所蕴含的影响未来的力量。

As a convergency media, short videos have been deeply embedded in the everyday live of ordinary people. The research on short videos and short video platforms has gradually expanded from a technical level to content producers on the platform, and related studies have explained the subjectivity of short video producers in digital labor and social and cultural practices from different perspectives. This study focuses on female creators on short video platforms, using emotions and gender as clues, and focuses on their emotional practices on short video platforms. By borrowing the theory of emotional capital and focusing on the process of generating and transforming emotional capital for female creators on short video platforms, it is found that female creators can accumulate emotional capital on short video platforms, and emotional capital has characteristics of fluidity, transitional nature, and limitation.

From the perspective of cultural study, this article employs qualitative research methods, including digital field observation and in-depth interviews. Digital field observation specifically includes walkthrough and online participatory observation. The subjects of in-depth interviews include five groups: female short video creators, male short video creators, and platform staff. The focus of in-depth interviews is on 39 female creators on short video platforms. Through in-depth analysis of the content of short videos, further in-depth interviews are conducted to understand their process of creating short videos, as well as their daily life experiences and emotional expressions. They describe their practice, interaction, and offline life situations on the short video platform, attempting to understand their emotional practice process on the short video platform.

The study has found that female creators have discovered the value and significance of emotions on the short video platforms. Short videos based on individual emotional experiences and daily life have generated a unique form of capital for women through short video platforms - emotional capital. Emotional capital helps women realize their self-worth, while also creating social value that transcends individuals and families. The emotional capital generated by female creators on short video platforms has the following characteristics: firstly, emotional capital has liquidity on short video platforms. Female content creators on short video platforms showcase rich short video content from four dimensions: knowledge and skills, emotions, daily life displays, and physical performances. By activating individual emotions, expanding emotional tension, and triggering emotional resonance, female creators have achieved emotional dimension visibility in visible labor. Emotional visibility reflects the changing trend of Internet content production, from the early network influencers who mainly output knowledge and opinions to the sharing of perceptual experience and daily life experience. This trend of change is essentially a rediscovery of daily life through showcasing authenticity. Secondly, female creators use the emotional strategies in the "Emotional Toolbox" on short video platforms to generate their own emotional capital, including emotional mining, seeking positive emotional power, and reserving emotions. In the process of forming emotional capital, there are two sources: primary socialization, such as family and school education, and secondary socialization, such as career development. Specifically, female creators explore positive emotional energy from self growth narratives and seek transferable emotional resources from past career experiences, establishing an emotional bridge between the "old self" and the "new self". Thirdly, as a transitional capital, emotional capital has value that can be transformed into other forms of capital such as economic capital, cultural capital, social capital, etc. This forms a unique way for women to accumulate capital. For female short video creators, the process of emotional capital transformation accumulated on the platform is particularly important. Only by completing the transformation to other capital can the value of emotional capital be realized and tangible changes be brought to women. The transformation of emotional capital relies on the emotional interaction process between content producers and audiences. Female creators transmit emotions to the audience through emotional practice, realizing the process of emotional flow. It is precisely this flow that truly helps female creators achieve the transformation from emotional capital to other forms of capital. In situations where other capital is scarce, emotional management skills are high, cross situational abilities are strong, and social media literacy is high, the transformation process of emotional capital may be smoother. However, the transformation of emotional capital is also limited by external conditions, and not all emotional capital can be smoothly transformed. Meanwhile, the formation of emotional capital cannot be separated from the unique field formed by female creators on short video platforms. Fourthly, as a transitional capital, emotional capital has the characteristics of instability and limitation. Short video platforms can bring practical and effective changes to the living conditions and social status of women, especially those at the bottom level. Under the current reality, this is a limited and gentle way to empower women. Fifthly, the vast number of female creators emerging on short video platforms exhibit the "tuberous" structure described by Deleuze. Female creators in short video platforms share their individual emotional experiences and showcase their endless vitality in a more flexible way through media iteration. The emotional expression of the flowing potential of the subject is precisely the power that culture itself contains to influence the future.
