论文立足十四年抗战,论述抗战时期老舍面临的次第文化危机以及他的选择和改变。1931-1945年,在战争的驱动之下,老舍可以说进入了一种加速的现代文化螺旋,展开一种主体与历史之间的相互形塑,总体呈现出一种多层冲突与更生的文化状态。

抗战时空,对老舍文化观念和审美观念的蟺变有着复杂而巨大的影响,但同时老舍在这种影响下有着自己独立的文化选择。老舍根植于自己的文化底层,在抗战时期发生着层积累进的生长,又继续反过来影响抗战时期的现代中国文学与文化。老舍与抗战,这种个体与历史的互动关系,主要体现在他的文学创作和文化活动之中。

论文基本思路是,借助历史、文化、文学等有关研究方法,将抗战老舍复杂的文化选择大致置于局部抗战、全面抗战前期、全面抗战后期三个不同阶段的历史、文化时空,结合其个体人生脉络,考察其文化方面的态度、实践、思考及其与周边文化关系的样态与特点。全文包括绪论、正文十章与余论。

第一章至第四章主要论析局部抗战时期的老舍从清末以来的历史负累中艰难摸索突围而出,选择以写作为志业,以人道主义为基础,在文学中回顾隐性遗民、审视五四与左翼、信用基督,文化上多元兼收,创作进入第一个高峰,总体上呈现出一种偏安于山东的现代职业作家状态。

第五章至第七章主要论析全面抗战前期老舍的转变。1937年7月七七事变爆发后南下武汉至1943年12月左右,大约以《火葬》写完为界。这个阶段的老舍,在全面抗战的社会应急性结构机制之下,从被动南下的纠结到主动用心地投入,文化观念急速转变,积极介入大时代,以笔为枪,立足抗战中国文化中心,全力开展文学和文化工作,体现出一种“小卒”立场、国家视野、民族情怀。这个阶段的老舍,从非本民族情境、非主流的文化空间投身国家政治文化的实践,从此个体与国家同谐共振,从满族到国族的视野提升,从个体、自由、职业的写家到集体、国家、民族的文化战士,以抗战至上开启抗战老舍文化选择第二个阶段。这个阶段的老舍,无疑实现自我再次超越,坚信祖国至上与中华民族至上,文化考量的视野变得绝无仅有的宏阔。不过,这个阶段的老舍,在冲上前去的家国激情之中,也表现出某种个体历史文化惯性以及认识表面化等问题,总体呈现一种全面抗战前期的文化应急状态。

第八章至第十章主要论析全面抗战后期老舍的文化态度。抗战进入后期,文化局面急剧改变,抗战建国道路上的政治分歧与博弈潜流涌动,抗战神圣的共同观念开始转为建国的道路抉择。在公共空间,老舍一改从局部抗战时期起就表现出的不关涉政治的旁观态度,在全面抗战后期频频发出带有超越党派政治立场的民主、和平与真理的呼声。在私人空间,老舍与赵清阁因为抗战文艺而走近,这一份战时私情从侧面透露出抗战局势的变化与老舍的文化考量;二人关系的发展,既是抗战文化场域中心态由紧绷趋缓的反应,也是抗战后期老舍文化态度与文学方向调整的风向,透露出老舍开始再度回归文学本身的迹象。无论在哪个层面,在高速变动的抗战历史与文化语境中,老舍始终在复杂的抗战文化时空独立应对,充分发挥着自己的文化主体性。无论是文化选择,还是文化建设,都表现出一种老舍式的在多元中共生的文化特点。

余论主要认为老舍在抗战历史语境之下及其文化关系之中,表现出一种文化间性,兼有现代中庸意味,跨越多种文化,不断切实调整与革新自我,成为现代中国一个独一无二的文化现象。

总之,抗战老舍,可以说是一段由个人低音与时代高音构成的现代文化复调。抗战老舍,在个体与时代的复杂互动中,形成自己独特的文化路径与文学风格。其文化路径的选择与文学风格的形成,是对抗战中国这一特殊历史语境所做的独立而复杂的反应。抗战与老舍,可以互为方法。通过抗战,可以反思老舍,理解抗战老舍在个体与时代的复杂互动中的文化反应或者文学应对,认识老舍及其文学与文化的复杂性,还可资检讨当时知识分子的不同文化道路。通过老舍,可以反思抗战文化与现代中国文化,理解一个时代中华文化的走向,为中华民族的文化复兴提供镜鉴。抗战老舍,可以说是抗战中国文化发展的一面镜子,在现代中国文化发展史上具有极强的个案意义。

    The thesis is based on the 14-year War of Resistance , discusses the several cultural crises faced by Lao She and his choices and changes during the war. From 1931 to 1945, driven by the war, Lao She can be said to have entered an accelerated modern cultural spiral, unfolding a mutual shaping between subject and history. As a whole, it presents a cultural state of multilayered conflict and renewal.
    The time and space of the War of Resistance had a complex and huge influence on the changes of Lao She's cultural and aesthetic concepts, but at the same time Lao She had his own independent cultural choice under this influence. Lao She was rooted in the bottom of his own culture. During the period of the War of Resistance, there was an accumulation of growth, which in turn continued to influence modern Chinese literature and culture during the War of Resistance. Lao She and the War of Resistance, this interactive relationship between individuals and history is mainly reflected in his literary creation and cultural activities.
    The basic idea of the paper is to use history, culture, literature and other related research methods to put Lao She’s complex cultural choices in the three different stages of the local War of Resistance,a the early period of the all-round War of Resistance , and the late period of the all-round War of Resistance, combining his individual life context, examining his cultural attitude, practice, thinking, and its relationship with surrounding cultures and characteristics.
    The full text includes the introduction, ten chapters of the main text and the conclusion.Chapters 1 to 4 mainly discuss Lao She during the local War of Resistance. He struggled to break through from the burden of history since the end of the Qing Dynasty. He chose writing as his ambition and humanitarianism as the basis to review the hidden survivors , examining the May Fourth Movement and the Left Wing, trusting in Christ in literature, culturally diversified, and creation has entered the first peak, presenting a state of modern professional writers partial to Shandong on the whole.
    Chapter 5 to Chapter 7 mainly discuss the transformation of Lao She in the early period of the War of Resistance. From July 1937 when the July 7th Incident broke out, he went south to Wuhan to around December 1943,roughly until the creation of Cremation.At this stage, Lao She, under the social emergency structural mechanism of the all-round War of Resistance, went from passive southward entanglement to actively invest with heart, cultural concepts have changed rapidly, actively intervened in the big era, with pen as a gun, based on the Chinese cultural center of the War of Resistance , and fully carry out literary and cultural work, reflecting a “small pawn” position, national vision, and national sentiment. At this stage, Lao She has devoted himself to the practice of national political culture from non-national contexts and non-mainstream cultural spaces. Since then, individuals have resonated in harmony with the country, and his vision from Manchu to nationality has improved, from individual, free, and professional writer to the cultural warrior of the collective, the country, and the nation started the second stage of the cultural choice of Lao She during the war with the supremacy of the War of Resistance. Undoubtedly ,Lao She achieved self-transcendence again, firmly believed in the supremacy of the motherland and the supremacy of the Chinese nation, and his vision of cultural considerations became uniquely broad. However, in this stage, Lao She was in the passion for his homeland and country, he also showed some problems,such as a certain kind of individual historical and cultural inertia superficial understanding  of the  War of Resistance in literature and culture, and so on. On the whole, he presents a cultural emergency state in the early stage of the War of Resistance.
    Chapter 8 to Chapter 10 mainly discuss Lao She's cultural attitude in the late period of the War of Resistance. In the late period of the War of Resistance, the cultural situation changed drastically. The political differences and the undercurrent of the game on the road of the War of Resistance and the founding of the nation were surging, and the sacred common concept of the War of Resistance began to be transformed into the choice of the way for the founding of the nation. In the public space, Lao She changed his non-political bystander attitude that he had shown since the period of the local War of Resistance . In the late period of the all-round War of Resistance, he frequently voiced calls for democracy, peace and truth that transcended partisan political stances. In the private space, Lao She and Zhao Qingge approached because of the wartime literature and art. This wartime personal affair reveals the changes in the war situation and Lao She’s cultural considerations from the side; The development of the relationship between the two men is not only the reaction of the state of mind of the cultural field of war to slow down from the tightness, but also the trend of the adjustment of the cultural attitude and literary direction of Lao She in the late period of the War of Resistance, which reveals the sign that Lao She is beginning to return to literature itself again.No matter what respect, in the rapidly changing history and cultural context of the War of Resistance, Lao She has always dealt with them independently, giving full play to his cultural subjectivity. Whether it is cultural choice or cultural construction, it shows a Lao She-like cultural characteristic of symbiosis in pluralism.
    The rest of the paper mainly believes that under the historical context of the War of Resistance and its cultural relations, Lao She has shown a kind of interculturality, and has a modern golden mean. He has crossed multiple cultures, continuously adjusted and innovated himself, and became a unique cultural phenomenon of modern China .
    In short, Lao She during the War of Resistance can be said to be a modern cultural polyphony composed of personal bass and contemporary treble. Lao She during the War of Resistance formed his own unique cultural path and literary style in the complex interaction between individuals and the times. The choice of his cultural path and the formation of his literary style are an independent and complicated response to the special historical context of China in the war. the War of Resistance and Lao She can be each other's methods. Through the war, we can reflect on Lao She, understand Lao She’s cultural response or literary response in the complex interaction between individuals and the times, understand Lao She and the complexity of his literature and culture, and review the different cultural paths of intellectuals at that time. Through Lao She, we can reflect on the culture of anti-Japanese aggression and modern Chinese culture, understand the trend of Chinese culture in an era, and provide a mirror for the cultural rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Lao She during the War of Resistance can be said to be a mirror of the development of Chinese culture during the war, and has a strong case significance in the history of modern Chinese cultural development.
