As the largest freshwater wetland in the North China Plain, Baiyangdian Wetland plays an important role in maintaining ecological balance and protecting biodiversity in North China. In recent years, the Baiyangdian wetland area is facing the threat of sharp shrinkage. In this paper, based on the high-resolution remote sensing image data of GF-1 and Google Earth from 2008 to 2018, the object-oriented method is used to classify and analyze the Baiyangdian wetland classification and multi-years changes. The research results of this paper are as follows: (1) According to the technical route of image segmentation, attribute calculation, feature selection and object classification, this paper conducts object-oriented classification of Baiyangdian high-resolution remote sensing images. The classification results show that the object-oriented classification method reduces the phenomenon of mixture of features. (2) The distribution of Baiyangdian wetland showed significant spatial and temporal variation characteristics: the area of Baiyangdian wetland showed a significant upward trend during 2008-2018, and the largest growth area was aquatic plants and lake wetlands. The constructed wetland first rises and then declines, and the reduced part is most transformed into natural wetland. Water bodies such as lake wetlands are mainly concentrated in the central part, showing the characteristics of “first gathering and then breaking”. Among the non-wetland types, the largest change in area is dry land, mainly in the western and northern regions, and its reduced area is mainly converted into lake wetlands and aquatic plants.
