莎士比亚是伟大的剧作家，同时也是极富文采的诗人。毫无疑问，他在英国文坛的地位无人可代，其文学作品的相关研究数之不尽。然而，相比于莎士比亚戏剧，关于莎士比亚十四行诗诗的研究相对较少，关于诗中及时行乐主题的研究更少。及时行乐从古到今就是一种被一部分人提倡又被另一部分人反对的观念，在中西诗歌中都有提及。而在仅有的可查文献中，关于及时行乐主题的存在与否仍有明确争议，一方明确声称莎诗中不含及时行乐主题，而另一方反驳道莎士比亚只是用了不同于传统的方式表达他的及时行乐价值观。 针对现有的两方争论，论文的目的是整理现有的文献，分析两派观点，通过文本分析研究莎士比亚十四行诗中的及时行乐主题的存在性，并从爱、时间、以及时代背景三个角度反驳否定其存在性的言论。这篇论文的意义分为外层和内层两个方面：外层意义是通过对十四行诗的深入阅读证明其中及时行乐主题的存在；内层意义是通过重读莎士比亚十四行诗，再品及时行乐精神，呼吁对及时行乐价值观的正确看待，了解及时行乐的时代意义。大多数关于该主题的论文都只针对于一方观点进行论述，而本文的突破在于总结了及时行乐主题的存在与不存在两方面论点与论据，并通过反驳不存在性的主要言论，以此加深本文论点：莎士比亚十四行诗中确实存在及时行乐主题。

As a great playwright as well as a talented poet, Shakespeare’s position in English literary world is without doubt irreplaceable. Researches on his literatures are numerous, but researches on his sonnets are much fewer than those on his dramas, let alone researches on the topic carpe diem in his sonnets. Carpe diem has been a popular motif in both eastern and western countries, advocated and objected by different parties. In the researches we have had on carpe diem in Shakespeare’s sonnets so far, contradictions are very prominent: one party clearly claims that there is absence of carpe diem in Shakespeare’s sonnets, while the other party refutes that Shakespeare uses a different way instead of traditional ways to show carpe diem. Aiming at these arguments, the thesis in the first part is intended to analyze these two parties’ points of view by studying those researches. In the next parts, it will prove the presence of carpe diem in Shakespeare’s sonnets according to some detailed sonnet analysis. What’s more, it will also argue against those statements that support the absence of carpe diem. The meaning of this thesis can be both from outside and inside: the outside meaning is to prove the presence of carpe diem by reading close to Shakespeare’s sonnets; the inner meaning is for the readers to be aware of carpe diem, to taste the carpe diem spirit and then to treat carpe diem in a right way. Most theses that talk about similar topics focus on one side to argue. The outbreak of this thesis is to summarize the statements and evidences from both sides, and then disprove statements on the absence of carpe diem, thus deepen its own point of view: there does exist carpe diem in Shakespeare’s sonnets.
