TRGB, Tip of Red Giant Branch, a specific stage of red giant star which has a series of typical properties including similar color and luminosity, according to the theory of stellar evolution. TRGB can also be commonly found in various galaxies, which made it have the potential of an excellent kind of Standard Candle, served in distance measurement of different galaxies and clusters. The TRGB, as a distance indicator, provide an independent method to achieve distance measurement in local universe and optimizing the current distance ladder consist of Cepheid and Type 1a Supernova (SN 1a), which could enable further study of measuring the Hubble constant in higher precision and resolving the problems of Hubble Tension. In our study, we measure the distance of the Fornax Dwarf galaxy based on the TRGB method. Previous researches have provided several distance within an approximate range of 143±10kpc, using Cepheids, Type Ia Supernova(SN Ia), RR Lyrae(RRL), Horizontal Branch stars(HB), Red Clump(RC), and TRGB methods. In this study, we use the latest data from Gaia survey, selecting and constructing new dataset, improve the current data processing of the TRGB method, and re-measure the high precision distance of the Fornax Dwarf. The final distance modulus is = 20.877 ± 0.024 (stat) ± 0.1 (sys) mag, or 149.8 ± 8.1 kpc. |
