严歌苓是当代海外华人文坛有影响的女作家之一。本文以母性书写为切入点，通过对严歌苓小说中母性主题创作的线性梳理，研究其母性书写的连续性与差异性。并从母性形象及其内涵、母性叙事类型、母性叙事策略和语言艺术风格等方面进行分析总结,探究其小说的母性思考与表达。指出母性是严歌苓小说创作的重要主题；在母性的自然和社会概念中，作家通过母性身份的探究，挖掘母性的本质；母性具有柔与刚、慈爱与凶残合成的完整性，包含了受难、宽恕、包容、博爱和自我牺牲等要素。严歌苓以母性书写消解宏大的男权意识、政治权力意识和种族文化意识，于日常小人物的故事中,呈现自然、古朴的“地母”式的母性形象，弘扬母性宽厚、包容和自我牺牲的精神品格,对“大地之母”和“弱者为强”的信念进行了礼赞。本论文分成五个部分:以引言开始，综述严歌苓小说的研究现状；然后在正文中分别考察了严歌苓早期和海外时期的母性书写，并对严氏20余年母性书写的特点进行总体概括研究；最后以对严氏母性书写的深层思考为结语。

Yan Geling is one of the famous writers in the contemporary literary area. Through Yan’s maternity novels, The article written for the entry point to motherhood researched and wrote the continuity and the difference about her motherhood writing. It analyzed and summarized the followings: the maternal image and its connotations, maternity narrative type, the maternal narrative strategies and linguistic aspects of artistic style,it also looked into the consider and the expression of her motherhood writing. The article pointed that the maternity is an important topic of Yan’s novels ; By motherhood concept of nature and society, she explored the identity of motherhood, and taped the essence of motherhood; she thought that motherhood contained with gentle and strong, kindness and cruelty , also had the suffering, forgiveness , inclusive, and other elements of love and self-sacrifice. Through maternity Yan Geling digested the man right sense ,the political power sense,ethnic awareness and cultural awareness in her stories about the little guys,and presented the nature and ancient "Mother Earth" maternity-style image, promoted the maternal generous spirit of inclusiveness and self-sacrifice,and praised the belief of "Mother Earth" and "weak for the strong". The article is divided into five sections: Introduction to an overview of the research of Yan’s novels; then in the text,It studied separately the two motherhood writings during the periods of early and overseas , and had the overall study about her summary of the characteristics to the motherhood writing of more than 20 years; Finally got the conclusion to her motherhood writing .
