With the rapid development of the digital game industry, the cultural connotation and artistic expression of games have attracted more and more attention. As an important resource for game innovation, traditional cultural elements are widely used in game design and development. As one of China's intangible cultural heritages, shadow puppetry has rich artistic expression and unique cultural charm. However, in the field of digital games, the application of shadow puppetry elements is still relatively small, and its potential cultural value and market potential need to be further explored. Therefore, this study aims to explore the application strategy of shadow puppetry elements in digital games, in order to provide new ideas and methods for game innovation and traditional cultural heritage. This study deeply discusses the application strategy of shadow puppetry elements in digital games. Through the strategic analysis of three aspects: character image, game scene and player interaction, the important role of shadow puppetry elements in improving the cultural connotation of games and enhancing player experience is revealed. Case studies further confirm the successful performance of games with shadow puppetry elements in the market. This study not only provides inspiration for game developers to innovate, but also provides a new path for the digital heritage of traditional culture.
