众所周知,随着经济和社会的发展,英语的地位日益突出。英语包括听、说、读、写四个方面的学习。离开了词汇,任何一方面都不能进行。所以词汇在英语学习中起着重要作用。如何帮助学生记忆单词是教师在教学过程中面临的严峻挑战。大部分学生能够意识到词汇学习的重要性,但由于没有科学有效的方法,词汇始终是他们学习英语的障碍。为此,本人想研究构词法教学,即引导学生通过构词法知识猜出新单词的含义,然后从字典查出其读音、意义和用法,再模仿其所在课文的句子造句。本研究的目的是检测构词法教学的有效性。研究的问题主要有:(1)构词法教单词能提高学习新单词的效率吗?(2) 构词法能提高学生的词汇运用能力吗?(3)构词法教词汇受师生的欢迎吗?本实验选取了郑州市一所中学高一年级的两个平行班共75名学生作为受试者,其中实验班41人,控制班34人。使用教材是人民教育出版社出版的实验教科书高一英语2。其中实验班采用构词法教学,对照班级采用传统的词汇教学法。实验前,对两个班进行前测考试,经过一个学期的试验后,在对两个班进行词汇考试(即后测),此外,受试者还要接受一次构词法教学的问卷调查。最后用SPSS13 .0对实验数据进行统计处理。作者通过认真的实验设计和数据分析后,得出以下结论:1.构词法教词汇在学生学习词汇的过程中起着相当重要的作用。构词法有助于学生记忆单词,提高词汇学习效率。2.构词法教学能够提高学生的词汇运用能力。3.构词法教学确实受到了学生的欢迎,提高了他们学习英语的兴趣,增强了他们学习词汇的信心。希望本实验能对高中英语教师教词汇有所启发,让学生熟悉构词法,通过构词法学习词汇提高学习效率,而不再是传统的死记硬背。

As we all know English is becoming more and more important with the development of economy and science. Learning English involves four aspects: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The four aspects can not exist without vocabulary. So vocabulary plays a very important role in English study. For teachers it is a great challenge to help students remember new words. Most students know the importance of vocabulary, but there is no a scientific method to learn vocabulary, so vocabulary has been a barrier for them. The researcher came up with increasing students’ word formation knowledge in vocabulary teaching and learning.The present study was designed to explore the effectiveness of increasing students’ word formation knowledge in vocabulary teaching and learning. The following research questions were explored: (1) Can increasing students’ word formation knowledge in vocabulary teaching and learning promote the efficiency of mastering new words? (2) Can increasing students’ word formation knowledge in vocabulary teaching and learning improve students’ language efficiency? (3) Can increasing students’ word formation knowledge in vocabulary teaching and learning be popular among students?The researcher took 75 students of a senior middle school as participants. There are 41 students in the controlled class, while there are 34 students in the experimental students. The materials that the students used were Senior Middle School English Book, which is published by People’s Education Press, Beijing.In order to test the validity of the method, an experiment was carried out between the two classes of a middle school. Increasing students’ word formation knowledge in vocabulary teaching and learning was taken in the experimental class and the traditional method was taken in the controlled class. Before the experiment, a pretest was given to them. After the experiment, a vocabulary test and a comprehensive test was given to the two classes. In addition, a questionnaire was given to the experimental class.After the experiment the researcher drew the following conclusions:1. Increasing students’ word formation knowledge is very important in English vocabulary learning. It can promote the efficiency of mastering new words.2. Increasing students’ word formation knowledge in vocabulary teaching and learning can improve students’ language proficiency.3. Increasing students’ word formation knowledge in vocabulary teaching and learning is very popular among students. I wish the research is helpful to the teachers in middle schools and let them know that word formation knowledge is very important in English vocabulary learning.
