“高等教育需要‘学生中心’的新视角与新模式”，这类观点掀起了一股“以学生为中心”的本科教育热潮。小组展示不仅是彰显学生中心理念的有效途径，而且操作便捷，因此受到高校教师的青睐，成为高校教学中学生中心理念的落实方案，在高校课堂中频繁出现。

小组展示虽然是学生中心理念的集中体现，但学生在其中的表现却与学生中心理念的期待背道而驰——一言不发成为学生在小组展示课堂中的常态。究其原因主要有二：一是输入受阻，聆听缺失，无法参与讨论从而导致沉默；二是输出受阻，发言困难，难以参与讨论从而导致沉默。

学生中心无法打破课堂沉默，表面原因在于教师教学技术失误，但根本原因在于学生中心理念存在着对学生过于理想的想象、对教师价值与作用的消解、过度多元化的评价标准等问题。因为技术问题并非普遍存在于所有教学中，且技术失误的背后也显现出学生中心理念的问题。

所以，要想打破课堂沉默，教师应当做好认识的修正与转向。第一、教师应当认识到学生中心并非教学的灵丹妙药，并非所有教学问题遇见学生中心都能够迎刃而解；第二、优质教学的实现不能只依赖于教学理念的更新，也在于教师个人教学能力的提升。
