由于特殊的历史条件，文学在中国 1980 年代的政治、社会和文化生活中占据着重 要的位置，使 1980 年代成为一个―文学时代‖。它不仅由于开启了我们当下的文学实践 而值得 ―重返‖，更由于与当今文学的被边缘化状态迥异而值得我们去寻找―旧‖的―新‖ 可能。与今天基于清晰统一的学科规划而产生的文学意识和知识结构不同，这一时代 的文学活动呈现出高度的混杂性和混血性特征:一方面是文学与政治的互动混杂，另 一方面是中国与世界的交融混血。如此一来，在―学科‖的规定之下进行―重返‖，必然 不利于重现这种混杂性，也容易错失反思―学科‖和当下的可能性。因此，本文??出 ―1980 年代世界文学的政治‖，意在通过―世界‖来强调这一―文学时代‖本身是―世界文 学‖时代，并通过―政治‖来凸显这一时代―文学‖的高度的―不纯‖和因此而来的活力。在 具体的论述上，论文从中国 1980 年代的历史语境出发，结合具体的个案(文学翻译、 ―外国文学‖话语与―人道主义‖、―现代派‖与世界文学观念和比较文学)探讨世界文学 机制不同层面(翻译、思潮、学科)的政治性，最终呼吁从―中国文学‖走向中国的―文 学世界‖，并将这一文学世界视为中国比较文学天然的研究领域。

After the Cultural Revolution, literature once played an important role in the political, social and cultural life in the 1980s China, and made that era a ―literary era‖. It is worthy our revisit not only because it had paved way for our literary practices in nowadays, but also because of its peculiarity for us. In contrast to our days in which the entire scholarship is charted neatly by the national wide institutions, literature in the 1980s showed extreme hybridity of literature and politics, and of China and the world. If we revisit the 1980s from the vision of our so-called discipline, it will turn out to be a wrong way. Therefore, I raised the title of ―The Politics of World Literature in the 1980s China‖, which is meant to stress that this era was an era of ―world literature‖, and literature in this era was ―impure‖ (in contrast to the belief of ―pure literature‖) and thus full of vitality. To bring this ―politics of world literature‖ into light, I will discuss four cases (Ba jin‘s translation of Alexander Herzen‘s My Past and Thoughts, Qian Gurong‘s idea of ―literature is the study of human‖ and its reception, the debates of modernism, and the construction of ―parallel study‖ of Chinese comparative literature) which could cover three layers (translation, intellectual trend, and academic discipline) of ―world literature in the 1980s.‖ My main argument is that we should open our mind of ―Chinese‖ ―literature‖ and ―the 1980s‖ (or any given era) and turn the institutionalized ―Chinese contemporary literature‖ into Chinese literary world and regard this world as the first and foremost field of Chinese comparative literature.
