       伴随着市民阶层的兴起与民间通俗文化的蓬勃发展,满足于民众日常生产生活且内容更趋俚俗化的插图本通俗日用类书于明朝中后期大量出现,附带插图成为其中的鲜明特色。翻检插图本类书,可以发现书中所附插图数量大,种类多,遍及类书各处,同文字一起巧妙组合成形式多样的图文结构,不仅起到类书文本结构装饰形态上的美观性,而且兼具图文搭配上的实用性。同时,作为适用于明代民间社会的通俗读物,明代插图本通俗日用类书所附插图之中蕴含有丰富的文化内涵,能够以其直观展示特点折射出画面场景表征背后的民间社会生态。全文总分为五章,以类书所附插图为重要参照点对明代插图本通俗日用类书进行了系统的梳理与研究。
       第一章,明代插图本通俗日用类书的兴盛背景。本章共分为两节,从内外角度分别概述插图本通俗日用类书于明朝中后期勃兴的原因。第一节介绍了明代插图本通俗日用类书兴盛的外在社会条件。市镇商品经济的发展、民间出版行业的兴盛、文人的绘画观念转变以及通俗文化阅读需求的增长为明代插图本通俗日用类书的兴盛提供了良好的经济、技术、读者与市场条件。第二节结合中国古代类书的发展演变分析了明代插图本通俗日用类书兴盛的类书内在结构性演变。从著录辞藻内容的魏晋传统类书,到关注民众医疗养生知识的元明通俗日用类书,中国古代类书在跟随读者现实阅读需求渐变的时代背景下自身也在不断地实用化,并最终衍生出一种特点鲜明且内容更加俚俗化的插图本通俗日用类书。
       第二章,明代插图本通俗日用类书插图的内容。本章共分为两节,归纳梳理了明代插图本通俗日用类书所附插图的整体概况。第一节以列表的形式将研究对象进行汇总,并在其基础上总结此类插图的概况特点。第二节主要对明代插图本通俗日用类书所附插图进行内容分类。依据画面内容的不同,类书所附插图可细致分为天文、地舆、仪礼、娱乐、命理、书画、域外及其他等八种主要类别。这些不同种类的类书插图出现在相关卷目中,与文字一起诠释着类书文本。
       第三章,明代插图本通俗日用类书中的图文关系。本章共分为三节,重点探讨了明代插图本通俗日用类书中的图文关系。其中,第一节对类书不同位置的插图进行了梳理。根据所处位置,明代插图本通俗日用类书所附插图还可被分为封面插图、卷前插图、文中插图和牌记插图数类。不同位置的插图不仅在篇幅大小上存有差异,而且同对应文本亲疏关系也不尽一致。第二节对类书中的图文结构进行了分类探讨。就图、文二者间位置关系来看,明代插图本通俗日用类书中存在有上图下文、上文下图、左文右图、左图右文、插图嵌入和图文一体等多种图文结构,不同的结构安排是作者追求不同类书编纂效果所进行的文本编排。第三节则从美观性与实用性两个不同角度探讨了插图在明代插图本通俗日用类书文本中所扮演的角色功用。
       第四章,插图所见文化现象及其背后的民间社会生态。本章共分为两节,从社会文化史视角以明代插图本通俗日用类书所附插图,尤其是卷前插图为着眼点,在对插图所呈现的场景画面进行表征解读的基础上,揭示画面场景背后所蕴含的社会文化现象及晚明民间社会生态。第一节从插图画面内容入手探寻画面背后的社会文化现象。诸如以人们往来赠送物品的场景插图为线索,结合类书中普遍收录的馈送范式文本,分析出晚明社会中存在普遍的馈送礼节和逐奢风气。通过对比诸图场景后可明显发现,明代插图本通俗日用类书所附插图主题与类书署名主旨间存有偏差,细究之下,应是晚明民间社会中还存在以士为尊的价值导向。而书商对市场红利的过度追求,导致明代通俗日用类书文本中普遍存在的拼版翻刻质量问题以仿制重景的形式出现于明代插图本通俗日用类书所附插图的绘制当中。第二节着重厘析类书插图中反复出现的“跪拜现象”。通过插图绘制手法、图中人物关系与形象特点解析,指出明代插图本通俗日用类书所附插图与类书文本中普遍存在不同形式的“跪拜现象”,而此现象背后实则是封建等级理念向民间社会的意识灌输,并由此得出晚明插图本通俗日用类书还兼具向文化水平低下的基层社会传播儒家正统礼法的政治功用。
       第五章,明代插图本通俗日用类书的编辑与阅读受众。本章共分为两节,以文化商品视角分析明代插图本通俗日用类书的出版编辑与读者受众问题。第一节从书商视角研究了明代插图本通俗日用类书的实用性编辑,并从书籍署名上的商业竞争意识、文本选材与编辑中的便捷实用原则等具体维度加以探讨。第二节从商品销售与阅读需求角度对比分析了明代插图本通俗日用类书的潜在知识受众。认为明代插图本通俗日用类书存在着商品销售视野下的预设群体和现实阅读需求下的真实受众两个不同范围群体。对比之下,预设群体是书商欲极力囊括士农工商所有阶层的市场追求目标,而真实受众则是需要具备一定文化背景、经济实力和身份地位的民间群体,如基层官吏、族长、塾师等。
       结语部分,是对全文的概括总结与思考。明代插图本通俗日用类书是明代类书体系中的一员,因附带多种形式的插图而别具一格。插图元素大量被运用于通俗类书文本编排之中,是明代社会变化的一个文化缩影,既有类书外在的演化显于其表,又有晚明民间社会生态的转变隐藏其中。

      With the rise of the citizen class and the vigorous development of folk popular cultur, in the middle and late Ming Dynasty, illustrated encyclopedia books of common daily use which were satisfied with the daily production and life of the people and whose content was more vulgar appeared in large numbers. The accompanying illustrations featuring prominently. Flip through illustrated encyclopedia books and it can be found that the illustrations are numerous and varied throughout the book, skillfully combined with the text into a variety of graphic structures. It not only has the aesthetics of text structure decoration, but also has the practicability of graphic collocation. At the same time, as a popular reading suitable for Ming folk society, there are rich cultural connotations in the illustrations of popular daily use encyclopedia books in Ming Dynasty. It can reflect the civil society ecology behind the scene representation with its intuitive display characteristics. The whole paper is divided into five chapters. Taking the illustrations attached to the encyclopedia books as an important reference point,this paper systematically combs and researches the popular daily use encyclopedia books illustrated in Ming dynasty.  
      Chapter one, the content is the prosperous background of illustrated encyclopedia books of common daily use in Ming Dynasty. This chapter is divided into two sections, respectly summarizing reasons for the popularity of illustrated daily encyclopedia books in the middle and late Ming Dynasty from the internal and external aspects. The first section introduces the external social conditions for the prosperity of illustrated encyclopedia books of popular daily use in Ming Dynasty. The development of urban commodity economy, the prosperity of folk publishing industry, the transformation of literati's view of painting and the growth of popular culture reading demand provided favorable economic, technical, reader and market conditions for the prosperity of popular daily use illustrated encyclopedia books in Ming Dynasty. The second section analyzes the internal structural evolution of popular daily encyclopedia books illustrated in Ming Dynasty based on the development and evolution of ancient chinese encyclopedia books. From the traditional encyclopedia books that recorded the contents of rhetoric in Wei and Jin Dynasties, to the popular daily encyclopedia books of Yuan and Ming Dynasties that focused on the knowledge of medical care and health preservation of the people, with the gradual change of readers' real reading needs, ancient chinese encyclopedia books are constantly being applied and eventually evolved into more tawdy illustrated daily encyclopedia books.   
      The second chapter is mainly about the contents and characteristics of the popular daily encyclopedia books illustrated in Ming dynasty. This chapter is divided into two sections and summarizes the general situation of the illustrations attached to the Ming Dynasty illustrated encyclopedia books of common daily use. In the first section, it summarizes research objects in the form of a list. On this basis, the general characteristics of this kind of illustrations are summarized. The second section mainly classifies the contents of the illustrations in popular daily use encyclopedia books of Ming Dynasty. According to the different contents of the pictures, the illustrations attached to the books can be divided into eight main categories:  astronomy, geography, ritual, entertainment, numerology, calligraphy and painting, external area and others. The illustrations of these different types of encyclopedia books appear in the relevant headings, interpreting the text of the books together with the words.  
      The chapter three mainly talks about the relation between pictures and texts in Ming Dynasty illustrated encyclopedia books of common daily use. This chapter is divided into three sections, focusing on the picture and text relations in Ming Dynasty illustrated encyclopedia books of popular daily use. The first section combs the illustrations of different positions in the encyclopedia book. According to the position, the illustrations encyclopedia books of common daily use in Ming Dynasty can be divided into cover illustrations, pre-volume illustrations, text illustrations and plate illustrations. The illustrations in different positions are not only different in size, but also have different affinity with the corresponding texts. In the second section, it classifies and discusses the graphic and text structures and symbolic meanings in the encyclopedia books. In terms of the position relationship between the picture and the text, there are many kinds of picture and text structures in Ming Dynasty illustrated encyclopedia books, such as picture on top and text on bottom, text on top and picture on bottom, text on the left and picture on the right, picture on the left and text on the right, illustrations to embed and graphic-attributes integration, etc. Different structure arrangement is the text arrangement made by authors in pursuit of different compilations. In the third section, it discusses role functions of illustration in the text of popular daily use encyclopedia books illustrated in Ming Dynasty from two different perspectives of aesthetics and practicability.   
      In chapter four, it discusses the cultural phenomenon and the civil society ecology behind it. This chapter is divided into two sections. From the perspective of social and cultural history, this chapter focuses on the illustrations attached to popular daily use encyclopedia books in Ming Dynasty, especially the pre-volume illustrations. On the basis of representational interpretation of the scene picture presented by the illustration, it reveals the social and cultural phenomena behind the scenes and the civil society ecology in the late Ming Dynasty. The first section explores the social and cultural phenomena behind pictures from the content of the illustrations, such as using scenes of people going back and forth with gifts as clues, combined with the general collection of type books in the feed paradigm text. It is analyzed that there is a general atmosphere of giving courtesy and pursuing extravagance in the late Ming society. This is evident by comparing scenes in the images. There is a deviation between the theme of the illustrations and the signature theme of the popular daily encyclopedia books illustrated in Ming Dynasty. Looking closer, in the late Ming Dynasty, there still existed the value orientation of respecting scholars. And bookseller's excessive pursuit of market dividend lead to the quality problem of collage and reproduction in popular daily use books of Ming Dynasty appearing in the drawing of the illustrations attached to the popular daily use books of Ming Dynasty in the form of imitation. The second section focuses on the "kneeling phenomenon" which appears repeatedly in the illustrations of taxa books. Through the illustration drawing techniques, the relationship between figures in the picture and the analysis of image characteristics, it is pointed out that different forms of "kneeling phenomenon" existed in the illustrations attached to encyclopedia books of popular daily use in Ming Dynasty and the texts of these books. But behind this phenomenon, it is actually the feudal hierarchy concept to the consciousness of civil society. And also It is concluded that the illustrated encyclopedia books of late Ming Dynasty also had the political function of spreading confucian orthodox etiquette to the society with low cultural level.
      The fifth chapter is about the editing and reading audience of the illustrated encyclopedia books of Ming Dynasty. This chapter is divided into two sections. From the perspective of cultural commodities, this paper analyzes the publishing, editing and readership of popular daily encyclopedia books illustrated in Ming Dynasty. The first section studies the practical editing of popular daily encyclopedia books illustrated in Ming Dynasty from the perspective of booksellers. It also discusses the commercial competition consciousness on the book signature, the convenient and practical principle in text selection and editing. The second section compares and analyzes the potential knowledge audience of popular daily encyclopedia books illustrated in Ming Dynasty from the perspective of commodity sales and reading demand. It is considered that there are two different groups in the illustrated encyclopedia books of common daily use in Ming Dynasty: the preset group from the perspective of commodity sales and the real audience from the realistic reading needs. By contrast, the preset group is the market target that booksellers want to take in all classes of scholars, agriculture and industry. But the real audience is the folk groups that need to have a certain cultural background, economic strength and status, such as elementary officials, chiefs, tutors of the old-type private school, etc.
      The conclusion is the summary and reflection of the whole paper. The illustrated encyclopedia book is a member of the Ming Dynasty book system, unique because of the various forms of illustrations attached. Illustration elements are widely used in the text arrangement of popular books. It is a cultural epitome of the social change in Ming Dynasty. There is not only the external evolution of the book but also the ecological transformation of the civil society in the late Ming Dynasty.
