本研究探讨了全球价值链（GVC）如何影响韩国的对外直接投资（OFDI）。随着全球经济一体化的深化，全球价值链在国际贸易和投资中扮演了关键角色，特别是对于韩国这样的经济体。研究通过分析韩国的外直投动态，揭示了全球价值链在促进或抑制国际投资流向中的作用。

本论文首先回顾了全球价值链和对外直接投资的相关文献，并提出了研究假设。研究采用了平衡面板模型，将全球价值链参与度、前向参与度以及后向参与度作为核心自变量，探讨这些变量如何影响韩国的对外直接投资。此外，还考虑了一系列控制变量，包括经济发展、生活水平、经济自由度、贸易量、汇率、技术水平和商业体制环境。

研究结果表明，全球价值链的参与对韩国的对外直接投资具有显著影响。具体来说，全球价值链的前向参与度以及后向参与度对对外直接投资产生了不同的影响。这些发现对于理解全球价值链如何塑造国际经济活动提供了新的见解，并为韩国及其他国家制定相关政策提供了依据。

本文不仅丰富了全球价值链与对外直接投资关系的理论和实证研究，而且为政策制定者和企业提供了操作对外直接投资策略的实际指导，特别是在全球价值链快速变化的国际环境中。

This study explores how the Global Value Chain (GVC) influences Outward Foreign Direct Investment (OFDI) from South Korea. As the global economy integrates more deeply, the global value chain plays a crucial role in international trade and investment, particularly for economies like South Korea. By analyzing the dynamics of South Korea's OFDI, the research reveals the role of the global value chain in promoting or inhibiting international investment flows.

The thesis first reviews the literature related to the global value chain and foreign direct investment and proposes research hypotheses. A balanced panel approach is utilized, incorporating the level of engagement in the global value chain, as well as forward and backward integrations, as principal independent variables to investigate their impact on South Korea's OFDI. Additionally, a series of control variables including economic development, living standards, economic freedom, trade volume, exchange rates, technology level, and business regulatory environment are considered.

The findings indicate that participation in the global value chain has a significant impact on South Korea's foreign direct investment. Specifically, forward and backward participation in the global value chain have differing impacts on OFDI. These insights provide new understanding of how the global value chain shapes international economic activities and offer evidence for policy-making in South Korea and other countries.

This study not only deepens the theoretical model and empirical evaluations concerning the interplay between the global value chain and foreign direct investment, but also provides practical guidance for policymakers and businesses in strategizing foreign direct investments, especially in the rapidly changing international environment of the global value chain.
