“忏悔”作为西方自传的重要主题影响深远，忏悔文学中自我形象的塑造体现着西方人对自我的剖析。本文以缪塞经典的法国浪漫主义心理小说《一个世纪儿的忏悔》为例，探究其主人公沃达夫的自我形象，并与奥古斯丁和卢梭《忏悔录》中的自我形象进行对比，分析忏悔文学中自我形象的演变及沃达夫形象独特的时代烙印。

The “confession” has a profound influence on the important themes of western autobiography, and the portrayal of self-image in confessional literature embodies the analysis of the western self. This paper attempts to explore the image of Octave, the protagonist of the French romantic psychological novel Confession of a Child of a Century written by Musset, and compare it with the self image of Confessions respectively written by Augustinus and Rousseau. Then it comes to the evolution of the self-image in confession literature and the unique brand of Octave’s image.
