电话媒介在上海公共租界的普及，对于市民而言不仅是一种新的现代性 媒介体验，其亦改变了行动者之间的交往模式，并在大众媒介中塑造了新的 媒介文化形式。在电话媒介普及的二十世纪二十年代，进步运动的兴起与情 欲文化的泛滥亦是当时上海公共租界的社会文化特点。电话媒介的出现改变 了情欲文化的形式，并通过连接市民、色情行业从业者与权力行使者的工部 局而形塑了情欲文化。本文将着重于媒介的物质性与组织性特征，从新旧媒 介间的交互、社会行动者的媒介实践、宏观权力平衡对于媒介实践的影响三 个层面，来考察作为新媒介的电话对于上海租界社会的情欲文化的形塑，并 据此探讨了半殖民地社会背景下的社会性别秩序。

The widespread adoption of telephone in the Shanghai International Settlement provided citizens with a new experience of modern media and changed the patterns of interaction among actors, shaping new forms of media culture within the mass media landscape. In the 1920s, when telephone became prevalent, the rise of the progressive movement and the proliferation of an erotic culture characterized the social and cultural landscape of the Shanghai International Settlement. The emergence of telephone altered the form of erotic culture, shaping it through connections between citizens, practitioners in the sex industry, and authorities such as the Municipal Council. This article focuses on the material and organizational characteristics of media, examining the interaction between old and new media, the media practices of social actors, and the impact of macro power balances on media practices. It explores how the telephone, as a new medium, shaped the erotic culture in Shanghai's International Settlement society and discusses the social gender order within the context of a semi-colonial society.
