人类可以对刺激的不同属性进行处理并根据当前的任务需要基于特定的属性进行决策反应。然而对于这些特征属性在加工过程中形成的表征之间的关系尚有很多争论。本研究中,我们要求被试在观看点阵刺激时注意数字或区域面积的特征,同时采用高时间分辨率的脑磁图技术来记录被试的神经活动信号,以考察任务相关和任务无关特征的处理机制的时间进程。使用表征相似性分析以及解码泛化分析等方法,结果发现数量和区域面积在类似的时间段内进行表征,二者的加工进程有不同模式,任务相关性基本没有影响它们表征的时间,但当某种属性作为任务相关特征时表征强度更大。且任务在很大程度上影响了数量和区域面积表征的方式。

外文摘要:

Humans can process different attributes of stimuli and base their decision responses on specific information according to current needs. However, there is much debate about the relationship between the mental representations formed by these attributes during processing. In this study, we asked subjects to attend to numerosity or filed area features in different blocks while viewing stimuli of dot arrays. MEG technique with high temporal resolution was used to record the subjects' neural activity signals to examine the time course of processing mechanisms for task-related and task-unrelated features. With the use of methods such as representational similarity analysis as well as decoding generalization analysis, it was found that numerosity and field area were represented during similar time periods, with different patterns of processing.Task relevance basically did not affect the timing course of their representation, but the extend of representation was greater when a certain attribute was the task-related feature. In addition, task relevance largely influenced the representation process of numerosity and field area.
