全国设立研究生翻译专业(MTI)的院校招生人数持续增加,语言服务行业发展势头迅猛,语言服务企业拥有很大的市场潜力和人才需求。然而,二者在人才匹配度上并不完全一致,语言服务企业仍面临着人才缺口,翻译硕士(MTI)毕业生也有一定程度上的就业困难。

本研究采取了问卷调査及调研访谈两种形式,选取北京地区多所高校的近五年翻译硕士毕业生和部分有代表性的语言服务企业进行了调研和访谈,主要了解MTI毕业生的就业预期、企业的人才需求,以及两者的匹配程度,以深入了解MTI就业与语言服务企业就业期望的差距,并对高校翻译硕士培养和企业用人提出建设性的意见。

调研结果显示MTI毕业生的就业期望与语言服务企业的人才需求部分匹配:毕业生对自身的就业情况较为满意,企业对毕业生的工作满意程度颇高。MTI毕业生对语言服务企业的薪资待遇、成长空间等方面,语言服务企业在从业者的沟通能力等职业素养和专业能力等方面期待较高

本文通过对翻译硕士毕业生和语言服务企业的调研,从高校翻译硕士培养和企业用人两方面提出如下建议:(1)毕业生要调整自身就业观,正视就业期望与实际情况的差距,发展的眼光看问题;(2)毕业生注重自身综合职业素质的发展,重视团队合作和人际关系,不再单纯把翻译等语言能力看作就业的基础(3)学生加强专业能力的同时,要广泛涉猎其他学科知识,扩充背景知识;(4)企业要进一步明确岗位晋升机制,拓宽员工的发展空间,以不同的形式激励员工;(5)企业可与高校联合,增加学生实习锻炼的机会,也有助于企业及时发现和培养人才;(6)高校需进一步优化自身的课程设置,培养符合市场需求的语言服务人才。

The number of colleges and universities setting up Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) and the enrollment of students continue to increase. The language service industry is developing rapidly, which has made great market potential and talent demands. However, the two are not completely consistent in the degree of talent matching: language service enterprises are still faced with talent gap; MTI graduates also have a certain degree of employment difficulties.

In order to understand the problems in depth and put forward constructive suggestions, this study adopts questionnaire survey on Beijing’s universities and conducts interview research on several language service enterprises. The matching degree between employment expectations of MTI graduates and enterprise’s demand is largely focused.

According to the results of the survey, the employment expectation of MTI graduates partially matches the talent demand of language service enterprises: graduates are relatively satisfied with their employment situation, and enterprises have a high evaluation of graduates’ work. However, the MTI graduates expect the enterprises to provide a higher salary, a faster promotion space. Enterprises, on the other side, attach great importance to the professional qualities such as communication ability.

Based on the research of graduates and language service enterprises, this paper provides the following suggestions for both sides: (1) graduates should set up a correct view of employment, face up to the gap between employment expectation and actual situation, and view problems from the perspective of development; (2) graduates should develop their comprehensive qualities, and instead of regarding translation and other language services as independent work, graduates should attach importance to teamwork; (3) graduates should grasp both language and background knowledge; (4) enterprises should further clarify their promotion mechanism, broaden the development space of employees, and motivate employees in different forms; (5) enterprises could cooperate with colleges and universities to increase the opportunities for students, which also helps enterprises to find and cultivate talents in a timely manner; (6) Colleges and universities need to further optimize their own curriculum and cultivate language service talents in line with the market demand.
