传统的教学模式以教师为中心,教师利用讲解、板书和各种媒体作为教学手段向学生传授知识;学生被动地接受教师传授的知识。其优点是有利于教师主导作用的发挥,便于教师组织、监控整个教学活动进程,有利于系统地传授科学知识,并能充分考虑情感因素在学习过程中的重要作用。其缺点是:容易完全由教师主宰课堂,忽视学生的认知主体作用,不利于具有创新思维和创新能力的创造型人材的成长,按这种模式培养出的绝大部分是知识型人材而非创造型人材。20世纪90年代以来,随着多媒体和网络技术的日益普及,特别是基于Internet的教育网络的广泛应用,建构主义理论在西方日渐盛行。建构主义学习理论提倡在教师指导下的、以学生为中心的学习方法;学习环境包含情境、协作、会话和意义建构四大要素。与之相适应的教学模式以学生为中心,在整个教学过程中由教师起组织者、指导者、帮助者和促进者的作用,利用情境、协作、会话等学习环境要素充分发挥学生的主动性、积极性和首创精神,最终达到使学生有效地实现对当前所学知识的意义建构的目的。WebQuest(网络主题探究)以建构主义作为理论基础,是一种基于检索的学习模式。WebQuests可激发学生自身的动力和自主性,发展他们的思维技能,并鼓励协作学习。WebQuests的本质是鼓励发展学生的思维技能。鼓励在学生之间进行合作学习。WebQuest具有以下优点:(1)学生直接访问与研究有关的网址;(2)始终关注研究目标;(3)信息量是受控制的;(4)学生可以根据自己的意愿随时决定利用哪些网址。但这种教学模式也存在着许多缺点,如:忽视教师主导作用的发挥,忽视师生之间的情感交流和情感因素在学习过程中的重要作用;当学生自主学习的自由度过大时,容易偏离教学目标的要求等。本文以“皮肤的结构和功能”为研究主题,制作了WebQuest网络界面,在中学进行了网络主题探究(WebQuest)和传统教学模式的比较研究。通过问题测试和调查问卷采集数据,并进行统计分析。结果显示,两种教学模式各有其优点和不足,不能简单地用后者去取代或否定前者,也不能反过来用前者去否定或取代后者。文章还对WebQuest的制作和教学实施过程中应当注意的问题进行了讨论,并提出了改进方向。

Teachers stay in the center position in the traditional demonstration, they give their instructions via explanation, writing on the blackboard and various media; while students accept knowledge from teachers passively. The advantages of this pattern are: teachers could play their leading roles efficiently, they could organize and control the whole course. Teacher and students could communicate easily, knowledge is given systematically. Also, emotion factors are taken into account adequately. Its disadvantages are: teachers rule the courses completely, and neglect the students as the main body of cognition, so it is not benefit to the generation of creative ideas. Students educated under this pattern mostly grasp a lot of knowledge, but are lack of creativity.Since 1990, with the development of multi-media and network, especially the adoption of Internet-based educational network, constructivism theory was prevalent in the western world. Constructivism advocates the student-centered learning method which guided by teachers. During the courses, teacher roles as organizer, guider, helper and promoter, the ultimate goal for students is to realize the meaning construction of what they are learning.The theory basis of WebQuest is constructivism, WebQuest is a kind of query-based learning pattern, it could initiate students’ self-promotion, develop their thinking skills, and encourage the collaboration. WebQuest has the following advantages: (1) students could visit the learning-related websites directly; (2) focusing on the researching goal all the time; (3) the amount of information is under control; (4) information is reliable; (5) students could decide which website they need to visit at any moment. However, WebQuest has its shortcomings as well, for example, it neglects the teachers’ leading role and the importance of communication between teacher and students. Students are prone to deviate from the learning goal when they have too much interest.In this study, I choose “The skin structure and function” as topic, and set up a WebQuest webpage, made a comparative study on the WebQuest and traditional demonstration in middle school biological education. Data collection was taken by examination and questionnaire, followed by statistical analysis. The results show that each pattern has its own advantages and disadvantages, we could not simple replace one pattern with another. The paper also addresses the key points about the webpage making and attentions during the performance, as well as the improvements in the future.
