八十年代中期以来，大规模农村剩余劳动力开始涌入城市，形成巨大的“民工潮”。这些农民工从农村迁移到城市，不仅仅是空间地理位置的转变，隐含更多的是一种全方位的从思想观念到行为模式、从内心意愿到制度形态的转型跟变迁。确切地说，这样的转型和变迁是流动人口的一次纷繁复杂而又意义深刻的社会适应过程。所以农民工的迁移和城市适应的相关研究，在促进我国的城市化、现代化进程方面有着很大的现实意义。本研究试图以一个特定的农民工群体——汽车维修工为代表，以推拉理论、社会关系网络等为基础，采用深度访谈和参与观察的方法对农民工的迁移和城市适应问题展开研究。本文在前人宏观研究的基础上，采取微观的视角，通过农民工由农村到城市的水平空间迁移过程以及实现由普通工人到老板的垂直地位迁移过程的描述，以及这些汽修工在城市生活中经济适应、社会交往适应、心理适应的现状，得出这样的结论：出于两大现实问题的考虑：城乡壁垒，如子女教育、养老、医疗等；发展机会、生活成本、未来打算等因素的理性权衡，汽修工们找到了一条新的出路：回到自己所在的二三线城市，再做回老本行，不过不是汽修工，而升级为汽修工老板。这是在二元户籍的大背景下，农民工不得已但却是目前最好的归宿，退而求其次，不知道他们的这种选择又会使他们在二三线城市遇到哪些方面的城市适应问题，在我国城市化现代化的关键时期，希望相关部门完善农民工城市适应的措施。

Since the mid 1980s, many extra physical labors in rural china moved from country into the cities to work, these peasant works make up what we called “farmer frenzied hunt for work in cities” .These peasant workers move from rural to city, the changes are not only in the case of geography, but also the changes of their thinking method, psychological tendency, and the systems in which they live. Properly speaking, these changes are really the process of the peasant works adaptation to the changes of their environment. So the research we mentioned above is very useful to promote our city modernization. In my research , special peasant works are represented car maintainer, is based on the push and the pull theory and the social network, to research the remove and the city adaptation of peasant works by Participant observation, in-depth interview .Based on the previous macro studies , the research takes microscopic view , descript the processes of peasant works‘ horizontal migration that from countryside to city and their vertical position migration that from normal worker to boss, and these car maintainers‘ present situation of city adaptation in economic 、social communication、and psychology ,we draw such conclusion : Considering two practical problems : the barriers between urban and rural areas ,such as children‘s education 、endowment insurance、Health Insurance and so on; rational choice, such as development opportunities 、the cost of living 、future plans and so on. They find a new way: returned to their own city, to do to their old profession. But not a car maintainer, and upgraded to car maintained boss. These choices are their best end-result under the background of the two yuan registration. We do not know what difficulty they will meet in their cities. During the key periods of our modernization, we hope that the relevant department to improve the city adaptation measures.
