任务型语言教学是一种通过一系列有意义的活动来提高学生的外语交际能力的方法。20世纪90年代,任务型语言教学的模式被许多英语作为外语学习的国家采纳。然而,很多报导显示在实施任务型教学模式的过程中,这些国家都遇到了困难。本文旨在回顾早期的教学方法,任务型语言教学的产生和在亚洲国家的具体实践,调查研究中国教师在实施任务型语言教学中遇到的困难。本文将使用问卷调查的方法来展开研究,问卷改编自韩国学者Li Defeng 的研究。 通过分析和比较数据,本文发现教师在任务型语言教学中遇到的困难可分为四类,一是来自教师本身,二是来源于学生,三是整个教育制度,四是任务型教学本身。大部分教师对自身的口语能力和教学策略不满意,因为他们中的大多数都没有接受过有关任务型教学的培训。教师普遍反应学生英语水平较低,课堂参与表现不强,再加上传统的教学方法和语法考试都束缚了任务的开展。除此之外,许多外部环境如大班教学,资金设备缺乏都阻碍了任务型教学的实施。任务型语言教学和中国的具体实践不相符合,为了解决这些问题,政府,学校,教师,学生和社会都应为之努力,改善当前的环境。
外文摘要:
Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT) is a useful methodology to develop learners' communicative competence through meaningful tasks. In the late 1990s, TBLT has been adopted by many EFL (English as a Foreign Language) countries. However, many accounts have shown that EFL countries still face many difficulties and challenges in implementing TBLT. This paper aims at reviewing the early teaching methods, the modern origin of TBLT and its implementation in Asian countries and investigating what the difficulties are when teachers use TBLT in the classroom in China. The paper reported here uses a questionnaire adapted from Li Defeng to investigate difficulties perceived by teachers in implementing TBLT. By analyzing and comparing the collected data, the paper concludes that the constraints and difficulties reported by the teachers are categorized into four: those caused by the teachers, by the students, by the educational system and by TBLT itself. Teachers report that they are unsatisfied with their spoken and strategic competence, along with little training in TBLT. They reveal that students have low English proficiency and resist to class participation. The traditional teaching methods and grammar-based examination also constrain the implementation of TBLT. Besides, the external conditions such as large class, insufficient resources and fund are obstacles for doing a task. The conflict between what TBLT requires and the real situation in China exists. To solve these problems, the government, schools, teachers, students and the whole society should all contribute to improve the present situation.
