胡适不仅积极与国内外学者探讨英国退还庚子赔款的管理与使用等问题，影响到了英国社会人士对于庚子赔款问题的看法，制造良好的社会舆论，还以英国庚款咨询委员会中方委员的身份，协助英国庚款调查团考察国内情况，并前往英国参加英国庚款委员会会议，努力促进最终议案有利于国人，为英国庚子赔款的退还做出了重要贡献。

At the same time, as one of the Chinese members of the British Boxer Indemnity Advisory Committee, Hu Shi assisted the British Boxer Indemnity-finding mission with their work, participated the British Boxer Indemnity Committee meeting in England, and tried his best to promote the final bill conducive to Chinese.
