在人际交往的过程中,大多数人会对自己的言行举止进行有意识的修饰,即有目的的“自我呈现”。由于社交媒体上的人际交往具有延时性、可修饰性等特点,用户自我呈现的策略和手段也更加丰富,对头像的选择是其中重要的方式之一。已有研究发现社交媒体的使用动机会影响用户的自我呈现,但过往研究对头像的关注较少。为补充和完善以往研究,本研究以微信作为研究平台,以大学生群体为研究对象,对微信使用动机和头像类型进行分类,并自编网络问卷,通过问卷分析法探究大学生微信使用动机与头像选择的关系。结果发现,扩新、维旧、自我表达及从众动机对大学生的微信头像选择产生显著影响。 |

In the process of social interaction, most people will consciously manipulate their language and conduct, in other words, purposefully engaged in“Self-representation”. Social interaction in social media, with the quality of delay and modifiability, give users more opportunities to apply various strategies in self representation. The selection of profile picture serve as one important example for such type of strategies. Previous studies have found that social media use motivation can affect users' self-presentation, but them have paid less attention to profile picture. In order to supplement and improve the previous research, this study takes Wechat as the research platform and takes college students as the research object, classifies Wechat use motivation and profile picture types, and compiles a self-designed online questionnaire to explore the relationship between college students' Wechat use motivation and profile picture selection through questionnaire analysis.The results show that, expansion of social circle, maintenance of existing relationship, self-expression and group conformity have significant impacts on college students’ selection of WeChat profile picture.
