低主观社会经济地位与成就动机和求职目标呈显著负相关;

成就动机在低主观社会经济地位与求职目标之间起到中介作用,即贫困大学生低主观社会经济地位可以通过两条路径影响求职目标:一为贫困大学生低主观社会经济地位直接预测其求职目标;二为贫困大学生低主观社会经济地位能够通过成就动机间接预测其求职目标;

阶层流动信念调节低主观社会经济地位与成就动机之间的关系。具体而言,相比低阶层流动信念上,拥有高阶层流动信念个体的低主观社会经济地位与成就动机之间的关系更弱;

Providing assistance for impoverished college students is a key work of national higher education. This not only includes material assistance, but also includes spiritual assistance. Impoverished college students are in a relatively disadvantaged position in terms of human capital and social capital, and they faced with problems such as limited social resources, outdated employment concepts, insufficient self-confidence, and weak risk resistance in the job market, and these problems will narrow their employment options, limit their prospects of career development, and even prevent them from seeking change, forming an intergenerational transmission of poverty.

Under this background, the purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between the low subjective socioeconomic status of impoverished university students and their job seeking goals, as well as the system involved. After analyzing many previous research results, and combining the family economic pressure model, the system justice theory, the belief in world injustice and other theories, this study proposes that the job seeking goals of impoverished college students with lower subjective socioeconomic status may be affected by a variety of factors. For example, the subjective socioeconomic status of impoverished college students may indirectly affect job seeking goals through achievement motivation; the relationship between the subjective socioeconomic status and achievement motivation of impoverished college students may be regulated by the individual's belief in class mobility.

1065 impoverished college students were investigated with the subjective socioeconomic status scale, achievement motivation scale, class mobility belief scale and job seeking goals scale in order to test the above model. It turns out that:

Low subjective socioeconomic status, achievement motivation and job seeking goals are significantly negatively correlated;

Achievement motivation plays a mediating role between low subjective socioeconomic status and job seeking goals, that is, one’s low socioeconomic status can affect job seeing goals through two paths: the one is to directly predict their  job seeking goals from their low subjective socioeconomic status; secondly, the low subjective socioeconomic status of impoverished college students can indirectly predict their job seeking goals through achievement motivation;

Class mobility beliefs regulate the relationship between low subjective socioeconomic status and achievement motivation. Specifically, the relationship between the low subjective socioeconomic status and achievement motivation of individuals with high-level class mobility beliefs is weaker than that of individuals with low-level class mobility beliefs;

These researches and results identify the factors that affect the job seeking goals of impoverished college students with lower subjective socioeconomic status; it also suggests that it is possible to intervene in the class mobility beliefs of these impoverished college students, thereby improving their achievement motivation and enhancing their employment quality in the future.
