香港是一个“永远在边缘永远在过渡”的城市,无法摆脱的是其与生俱来的边缘性。这样的历史背景中滋长起来的文化多元且善变,渗透在直观反映其文化特征的电影中,又通过电影批评重新投射到文化中去。香港的文化、电影、电影批评三者相互依存、影响,形成了独特的文化景观。电影批评是电影学研究重要的组成部分,对香港电影批评史的梳理,是将香港电影还原放置于社会历史的背景中,从文化批评的角度重新审视香港电影的发展历程和香港的特殊文化、文化身份嬗变的轨迹。1949年之前,香港电影初创,大陆影人南下拍摄了大批带有明显大陆文化印痕的电影,并未出现明确的电影批评,些许的评论文字潜隐在电影的介绍宣传中,具有浓重的商业色彩;1950年至1970年,中西文化交汇于香港,国粤语电影双向并行,电影逐渐成为最大众也是最受欢迎的娱乐项目,电影批评以“集体影评”的方式涌现,出现了固定的影评撰稿人及影评阵地,对电影“社会功能”的关注尤为明显;1971年至1989年,本土文化勃兴,“香港电影”标签愈加明显,“东方好莱坞”渐成规模,电影活动增加,电影批评趋向系统化和理论化,侧重电影本体及电影工业研究;1990至1997年,九七焦虑笼罩,无“安全感”的社会图景中,香港电影黑暗、绝望、宣泄、癫狂,电影批评趋向理性,大量出版物问世,多侧重文化与意识形态的研究;1997之后,后九七余波仍在,合拍片盛行,香港电影摸索中寻找本土化和国际化的完美结合的可能性,文化交流愈加频繁,电影批评蔚为壮观,多元庞杂,涵盖各个层面。对于香港而言,电影批评的嬗变过程,同样也是香港这座城市历史生成、文化变迁的另一种书写。

Born with marginality, Hong Kong is a city always on edge and in transition .with this background, its culture is of plurality and capricious. Its culture penetrates into its movies; criticism is a reflection of its culture. Hong Kong’s culture, movie and criticismcoexist, co-affect with each other which is a unique cultural phenomenon.Criticism is a very important part of movie study .hackling the history of Hong Kong criticism, placing the movie back to the social history, the author tried to find the changing path of its culture identity, review the history of its movie development and its special culture throughcriticism.Before 1949, Hong Kong movie is in its initial stage, people in the movie industry from mainland China went to Hong Kong, photographed lots of movies featuring with mainland culture.at that time,some comment words were hided in the movie propaganda with commercial purpose ,socriticism did not exist apparently. from 1950-1970, Chinese culture and western culture coexisted ,mandarin movies and Cantonese movies both developed well, movie became the most loved and most popular entertainment,criticism emerged in the form of collective movie review. There were also some review writers and forums which concern on movies social function obviously. Between 1971 and 1989, the local culture boomed ,the label of Hong Kong movie became more and more obvious, movie movement increased ,criticism became more systematic and theoretical which put particular emphasis on the study of movie itself and movie industry. From 1990 to 1997, the anxiety of returning and insecurity brooded above Hong Kong, the movie was filled with darkness ,madness ,desperation,abreaction.Criticism became rational, a lot of Publications were published which put particular focus on the study of culture and ideology. After 1997, co-shot movie became popular, Hong Kong movie searched for the possibility of perfect combination of localization and globalization.Criticism became grandiose, diversified and complicated.As to Hong Kong, the changing process of its criticism is also another expression of its history and cultural changes.
