Rhythm refers to a fixed speed in music. Rhythmic signals can be transmitted via auditory sense and touch, the latter of which can also respond to the specific vibration frequency. The multi-sense channels can simultaneously stimulate multi-sense benefits and improve the learning efficiency. In this research, beginners of music learning are required to distinguish and learn rhythms to examine the role of the auditory sense and tactile input time sequence on music rhythm learning. Results show that the multi-channel stimulation takes shorter time to respond compared with the single-channel stimulation in distinguishing rhythms. The tactile input is presented before the auditory sense input, so the former demonstrates a higher accuracy in distinguishing and learning rhythms. Besides, the rhythm learning outcome is the closest to the standard rhythm. This suggests that time difference between auditory input and tactile input can influence music rhythm learning. When the tactile input comes before the auditory input, the time difference can more efficiently promote music rhythm learning compared with other time differences. This rule has promising prospects to be widely applied to singing learning, performance of music instruments, music games, etc.
