汉字教学在汉语教学中占据着非常重要的地位,学好汉字是学习者进一步提高汉语水平的重要基石。近年来开设中文课程的美国高校的数目不断增加,但数字增长的背后存在着一些问题,首先美国高校的中文课基本上是综合课型,没有专门的汉字课,教师进行汉字教学的时间比较有限;其次,有一些教师不重视汉字教学,把教学的注意力集中在听说口语训练方面,导致学生受到的汉字训练不足;学生在面对笔画多、结构复杂的汉字时往往束手无策。鉴于以上情况,本文以美国维思大学(Wesleyan university20192020两学年初级中文班的学生为研究对象,展开研究。

本文第一部分为绪论,介绍了本文的选题缘起和研究意义,以及对母语非汉语学习者进行汉字教学的相关理论和研究综述。第二部分是对美国维思大学初级汉字课的基本介绍,包括学生汉字背景和教师使用的汉字教材两部分。第三部分为教师教学方法研究,通过课堂观察,研究两个班级各自的教学安排、教学内容,指导思想以及教学方法等。第四部分介绍了问卷调查的设计和调查结果,具体从学生的学习态度、学习投入、学习方法、使用工具等角度对两个班学生的汉字学习情况进行了分析。第五部分整理了学生的汉字偏误,包括错字和别字两大类,错字偏误从笔画和部件两个层面上分析,各总结出三类偏误,还有一类不同偏误杂糅在一起的多重偏误;别字则从字形和字音角度分析并归纳错因。第六部分对学生汉字学习效果的影响因素进行分析,并对初级阶段的汉字教学提出的建议,包括制定合理的教学计划,从笔画和部件角度进行课堂教学的具体方法,以及进行课后辅导等。结语部分归纳总结全文,并指出本研究的不足之处。
外文摘要:

Chinese character teaching stands in a very important status in the language teaching. It’s of vital importance to study Chinese characters well for students who want to improve their Chinese language proficiency. More and more American colleges and universities have begun to offer Chinese courses, but there are some problems at the same time. First of all, the Chinese courses in American universities are basically integrated courses. There is no special Chinese character class, and the time for teachers to teach Chinese characters is limited. Secondly, some teachers do not pay attention to the teaching of Chinese characters, but only focus on listening, speaking and speaking training. Students have got on idea when facing Chinese characters with many strokes and complex structures at the beginning stage. Because of the above situation, this article takes the students from the Chinese classes in the 2019 and 2020 academic years of Wesleyan University in the United States as the research object to carry out research.

The first chapter of this research is the introduction of the thesis, which introduces the origin of the topic, the research significance, and the related theories and research summary of Chinese character teaching for non-native learners. The second part is a basic introduction to the elementary Chinese character course at Wesleyan University, including the background of the students and the Chinese character textbooks used by two teachers. The third part is the research of teachers’ teaching methods. Through classroom observation, getting detailed information about the teaching plan, ideology and methods used by two teachers. The fourth part introduces the design and results of the questionnaire survey. It analyzes the Chinese character learning situation of the two classes from the perspectives of students' learning attitude, learning input, and learning methods. The fifth part analyzes the students’ Chinese character errors, including incorrect characters and characters which are written into a similar one . The incorrect characters are analyzed from both strokes and components, each of which has three kinds. There is also a type of multiple errors. Then this chapter analyzes and summarizes the characters which are written into a similar one from the perspective of the shape and sound of the character. The sixth part analyzes the influencing factors of the learning errors, and gives suggestions for the teaching of Chinese characters in the elementary stage. The suggestions includes the formulation of a reasonable teaching plan, specific classroom teaching from the perspective of strokes and components, and after-school tutoring. The conclusion part summarizes the full text, and finds out the shortcomings of this research.
