刘向是中国文化史上的一位重要人物，他有感于时局政治，采录典故故事，以著述当谏书，编撰《新序》为汉成帝提供效法。《新序》不仅兼具艺术性和思想性，体现了刘向的思想观念和价值取向，而且为我们保留了许多先秦秦汉时期的事语类故事。 本文首先解决了《新序》的编撰目的、成书时代、材料来源、文献价值、流传与散佚、引《诗》、后人附益等相关问题，然后在此基础上进一步探究战国秦汉时期文献的生成与流传、思想观念、政治文化、权力结构、诸子对未来政治模式的设想等问题。 本文由绪论、正文三章、结语和附录组成。绪论说明了本文的选题与研究意义、研究现状和创新点；正文第一章首先探讨了刘向是“编”还是“撰”《新序》的问题，然后探讨了《新序》的文献价值与学术地位，最后梳理了《新序》流传与散佚的过程；第二章首先分析了《新序》中先秦故事的时间、空间、人物身份的分布与特点，然后分析了《新序》先秦故事中后人附益的成分；第三章首先对以往研究《新序》材料来源的方法进行了评析，并对如何利用文献互见来探讨《新序》的材料来源提出了自己的看法，然后分析了《新序》引《诗》的情况；结语对正文各个章节的结论进行了总结概括；附录梳理了前辈学者对《新序》校勘注疏的成果，并在此基础上对《新序》中13例字词的校释进行了商榷或补充。 本文着眼于以往《新序》研究中的薄弱问题，从不同角度进行分析，力求在前人研究的基础上，对《新序》的相关研究有所推动。

Liu Xiang was an important part in the history of Chinese culture. He felt in realpolitics，collected literary quotations and stories, compiled the Xin Xu to provide the lesson for Emperor Cheng of Han Dynasty. The Xin Xu was artistic and thoughful, it showed ideology and value orientation of Liu Xiang. Moreover, many stories in the pre-Qin, Qin and Han Dynasties have been preserved for us. This paper firstly dealt with some basic questions, such as the compiling purpose, the time of completion, the source of materials, the value of literatures, the spread and variation, the quotation of poetry and farfectched analogy. Then, this paper explored some questions of the Warring States, Qin and Han Dynasties, such as the generation and spread of literature, ideological connotation, political culture, structure of power, and conceptions about politics of ideologist. This paper consists of introduction, chapter one, chapter two, chapter three, conclusion and appendix. The introduction firstly explained the significance, current situation and innovation of this paper. The first chapter of the text firstly discussed whether Liu Xiang is a compiler or an auther of Xin Xu, then it discussed the literature value and academic status of Xin Xu, and finally summarized the process of spreading and losing in Xin Xu; The second chapter firstly analyzed the distribution characteristics of time, space and character identity in the story of the Pre-Qin Dynasty in Xin Xu. After that, it analyzed the farfectched analogy of some pre-Qin stories in Xin Xu; The third chapter firstly reviewed and analyzed the methods of studying the historical sources of Xin Xu, and put forward my own views on how to make use of the mutual appearance of literatures. Then it analyzed the quotation of Poetry in Xin Xu; The conclusion summarized the conclusions of each chapter of the text. On the basis of previous studies, the appendix discussed the explanation of some words in Xin Xu. This paper focused on the weak points in the study of Xin Xu, and made the analysis from different perspectives, which aimed to promote the relevant research of the Xin Xu.
