交际能力这个概念最初由Hymes 提出。二十世纪七十年代后期,以 Candlin和胡闻仲首先将交际能力和交际教学法理论引入国内。随后,语言学习的目标是通过实施一系列语言行为从而获得参与交际活动的能力这一观点得到普遍接受;诸多学者和语言教师开始转向关于发展中国学生交际能力的教学法研究。但由于研究大多过于理论化,或直接介绍国外研究成果,缺少一套适合国内学生发展交际能力的行之有效的教学法,国内语言教学成绩并不明显。本文以英语教学为例,结合国内中学教学特点以及国内语言环境,通过探讨如何发展中学生英语交际能力,并对一些常见的关于交际能力的争论进行分析,旨在为发展学生交际能力的国内中学英语教师提供一些启示。

外文摘要:

The term communicative competence was coined by Dell Hymes and later developed by many linguists. It was brought to China along with CLT in the late 70th in the 20" century, and since then a lot of researches have been done on this subject by Chinese scholars and language teachers. However, most of these researches are theoretical, or merely introduce theories and researches of foreign scholars directly; while few aim to develop a series of methodology suitable to foreign language teaching for Chinese students. This paper, focusing on English teaching at secondary school and taking the realistic Chinese language teaching environment into consideration, tries to extend an exploration on the development of secondary school students’communicative competence from the angle of three sub-competences,brings up and analyzes three noticeable problems which often challenge teachers in the classroom.
