中国当代先锋派作家刘索拉兼具作曲家等多重身份，其小说叙事呈现出较强的音乐性。在叙事节奏上，刘索拉效仿了西方爵士乐即兴化的特点；在叙事语言上，其小说又体现出中国古典韵律之美；在叙事结构中，刘索拉借鉴了复调音乐的多声部性以及歌剧作曲中的“主导动机”；在意境的营造上，其作品折射出摇滚与民歌的特色。

The contemporary Chinese avant-garde writer Liu Suola has multiple identities such as a composer, and her novel narrative presents a strong musicality. In terms of narrative rhythm, Liu Suola imitated the improvisational characteristics of Western jazz; in terms of narrative language, her novels reflect several attributes of Chinese classical rhythm; in terms of narrative structure, Liu Suola drew on the polyphony of polyphonic music and in opera composition. The "leading motive"; in the creation of artistic conception, her novels reflect some characteristics of rock and folk songs.
