王鳴盛服膺鄭玄,治經以尊鄭爲旨歸.王鳴盛認爲漢人去古不遠,最瞭解經義,漢人治經的核心是家法,鄭玄集眾家之長,形成了獨特的鄭氏家法,治學首當從漢學,治漢學自當尊鄭學.通過系統性的曆算對此進行審視,錢塘丁巳元,甲寅元積年的提出爲推算提供方法論借鑒.對<周書>系年作出梳理,分文王武王事,周公事,成王康王事三方面展開,分別討論鄭玄,孔傳,王鳴盛的系年,推算<三統曆><周曆><殷曆><乾鑿度曆>的具體日期,對各家用曆進行分析.孔傳用曆混雜,王鳴盛主用<殷曆>,鄭玄用<殷曆>,認爲<殷曆>與經相合,根據<殷曆>安排年數.王鳴盛爲鄭玄用<易緯>積年注<尙書>尋找依據,認爲凡是與鄭玄不合的年數安排,月日安排都有錯,但他未找出劉歆與鄭玄存在差異的根本原因,只能出於尊鄭的立場表示反對,暴露了明顯的矛盾.王鳴盛獨尊康成,罷黜他說,到了偏執的地步,但他也因此將漢學推向頂峰.

Wang Mingsheng wrote Shangshu Houan，which reflected his academic interest in revering Zheng Xuan。Wang thought the Han Dynasty scholars were very close to the classics，so they knew the meaning of the classics best。The core method of the Han scholars studying classics is Jiafa（knowledge and method passed from the Seniors）。Zheng Xuan took advantage of various schools and formed a unique Zhengs Jiafa。The most important thing to study classics is to follow the Han scholars，and to follow the Han scholars means revering Zhengs theory。This is examined through a systematic calendar。Qian Tangs theory of setting the first year of the calendars in Dingsi （the 54th in Sexagenary cycle） or Jiayin （the 51st） provides a methodology for the calculation。To analyze the year arrangement of Zhoushu from three aspects: King Wu，Duke Zhou，and King Cheng，King Kang。To analyze Zheng Xuan，Kong Zhuan and Wang Mingshengs year arrangermant，and to calculate the accurate date respectively according to the Santong Calendar，the Zhou Calendar，the Yin Calendar，and the Qianzaodu Calendar，and to analyze the calendar each scholar used。Kong Zhuan used mixed calendars。Wang Mingsheng mainly used the Yin Calendar。Zheng Xuan used the Yin Calendar，and believed that it coincided with the classics，and arranged the years according to the Yin Calendar。Wang found the basis for Zheng Xuans using the year arrangement of Yiwei。He believed that the year arrangement and the date arrangement were wrong which were not coincided with Zheng。But he didnt find the root cause of the difference between Liu Xin and Zheng Xuan。It was only possible to express opposition from the position of revering Zheng，which exposed obvious contradictions。Wang Mingsheng only believed Zhengs theory and opposed other theories。Because of this，he also pushed Han Studies to the top.
