动画片作为儿童学习语言的来源之一,其台词影响着儿童的语言理解能力和语用能力。喜剧动画更是有可能与儿童幽默感的培养有关。Grice的合作原则可以作为解释隐含意义和言语幽默的语用学方法。这一原则有四个准则。基于说话人合作或遵循合作原则的假设,受话人可以获得会话含义。会话含义分为常规含义和特殊含义。后者类似于言外之意,是讨论的焦点。当一般原则得到遵守,但准则遭到违反时,就会出现特殊含义。此外,Raskin和Attardo等语言学家又发现了言语幽默与违反合作原则的联系。本文运用合作原则,以中美两部家喻户晓的动画系列片《海绵宝宝》和《喜羊羊与灰太狼》为对象,探究和比较两部动画片台词中的会话含义和言语幽默。
本研究兼用了质性研究方法和量性研究方法:对样本对话的会话含义和言语幽默进行了案例分析;借助问卷调查对两部动画的语言进行了幽默性评估,证实了幽默的产生与违反合作原则之间存在的关联。问卷的结果同时也提供了两部动画在言语幽默程度上的对比。本研究在两部动画的语言中均发现了丰富的会话含义和言语幽默。就这两项指标而言,这两个动画的语言质量是相当的。此外,关系准则是四个准则中最常被违反的一个。

As one of the potential sources of children's language learning, animation has an impact on children's ability of language comprehension and language use. Animated comedy which is loaded with humorous language, is likely to be related to the cultivation of children's sense of humor. The theory of Cooperative Principle can be the pragmatic approach to interpreting implied meaning and verbal humor. This principle has four maxims. Based on an assumption that the speaker is cooperative or following Cooperative Principle, the listener can get conversational implicature, generalized or particularized. The latter, which is similar to illocutionary meaning, is the focus of discussion. Generalized implicature is arisen when the general principle is observed but a maxim is violated. In addition, linguists such as Raskin and Attardo have also found a relationship between verbal humor and violation of Cooperative Principle. Using Cooperative Principle, this paper explores and compares the conversational implicature and verbal humor in the lines of two well-known Chinese and American animation series: SpongeBob SquarePants and Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf.
This study uses qualitative and quantitative research methods. A case study of conversational implicature and verbal humor in sample dialogues is conducted. Using a questionnaire, the verbal humor of the two animation was evaluated, which confirmed the association between humor and violation of Cooperative Principle. The results of the questionnaire also provide a comparison of verbal humor between the two animations. This research found that there are rich conversational implicature and verbal humor in the languages of both animations. In terms of these two indicators, the language quality of the two animations is equivalent. In addition, the Maxim of Relation is the most likely to be violated among the four maxims.
