自1946年2月14日第一台电子计算机（ENIAC）诞生以来，六十多年来，计算机在数量或是性能方面的发展速度十分惊人。将信息技术应用于教学中也是教育工作者的关注点。从计算机第一次被应用于课堂中，到如今多媒体课堂的建立，技术都在不断改变着教育。因为技术的介入，中小学语文教育也有了本质的变化。这些变化可以让语文课堂变得更加充实高效，但也有可能产生负面影响，不利于学生语文能力的习得和语文素养的提高。总体来说，信息技术进入语文教育可以激发学生的学习兴趣，引发学生的联想，能够真正让学生参与到学习中来，培养学习者的自主学习能力。同时，过分的应用信息技术也会限制学生的发展空间，阻碍学生形成语感，影响学生的书写能力。在教学中应用信息技术是为了提高教学效果，帮助学生更好地掌握语文基础知识，而不是关注如何使用新技术。
